Cracking afternoon in Port Douglas again. My son, Conner (Boxy) decided to come for a ride, so we loaded what felt like 2 ton of equipment into and on top the car - company cars can take so much more. Bit lighter than yesterday, sitting on a nice 18knts when we hit the water.
Boxy rigged up a 5.4 North Natural crank down, with my AHD 125 and just got stuck in. Had a ball. Got rid of his fear of the open ocean and just had a great time. Time to invest in a harness so that he can begin to enjoy the long runs with the fatigue. Me little mate has just found his groove and is throughly enjoying the time spent on the water.
Almost decided to spend some time on my used iS90 with my new 36MK1 Tribal (always the way, new equipment and struggle to find conditions to use it) but decided to put on the old fav - used 104 Missy Screamer and 7.5 T4. Not as rough as yesterday even with the incoming tide. Even Freddo would have enjoyed it. I know Jimmy "The Mountain Man" Drinnen did. Great fun blatting in and out, chasing each other up wind and down wind. A couple of subtle wind direction changes made the last 1/2 hr challenging before the breeze droppped out to 15 or a tad less.
Overall, a very pleasant day on the pond.
