Shoal Bay, Princess Royal Harbour, WA, AU

Ezzy Tiger 4.7m, Sonic 56w, KA 26cm/40

Had hoped to try & put together a reasonable hour, was not to be. Storm surge pushed the tide higher than predicted so no flat at Shoal Bay & the other end is always a bit up & down. After a bit of driving back & forwards decided to have a sail at Shoal Bay.

Went with the Ezzy as I'm not sure how many more sails the 5.8 Koncept has left in & thought I'd save it for another time. Timed it perfectly for the wind to boot right up before a front arrived & be grossly overpowered, way beyond my limited capabilities. Walked back in that really stinging rain, what a great day! Just as I arrived back at shore the front passed & wind moderated a bit so being the idiot I am went for a bit of a sail.

Was actually almost controllable & got to the bank to find a bit of flatish water only trouble was there were some weedbergs & numerous strings of fairly solid weed on the surface that I kept hooking up & had to stop a few times to clear it off the fin. Did get a few decent runs which put a smile on my dial so wasn't all bad.

Saw the next front coming so piked it back to shore so I can live to sail another day Smile

Oh yeah as far as wave sails for GPS sailing, don't recommend it unless desperate!

Wow Morts, you managed to have a sail without getting a PB, are you ok? I have an spare, older Koncept 5.8 in good condition if you get desperate.

Gotta have a day off every now & then otherwise you get a bit blasè with it all. Pretty aure you were rostered on for the 30knot hour anyway...

Had a better day thaan the Kiter who lost his board half way down the harbour on a downwinder & had to body drag all the way back to shore. Think he's still out there looking for his board.

Good one Morts, at least you got out and survived.
