Coal Point, NSW, AU

RS3 and 6.6m (Gun weedy) Strong early NE (20-25kts) . Sailed from 1pm to 2.30pm. Then a southerly hit that lasted about 1 min.

Unfortunately missed a 1 hr PB by 0.01 kts

Coal Point, NSW, AU                         Warp 7.0 / RS4 /

Strange day at Coalie , only hit the water for a short time when big clouds came from the south also lightning , had a scarey trip back to coalie from the sand islands . About 5 minustes after getting back the wind died and came in from the south . After packing up and driving off it swung back NE and was white capping right up into belmont bay .

Too greedy to try for 3 days in a row? Excessive zeal in the cause of humanity,ie, trying to launch the speed board at 7th Ave in a nor easter so as to establish if it was do-able? You be the judge.

From Toukley bridge it was clearly a ripper NE wind and it was like that when I rigged. To get out was a long walk, not too far to deep water but a long way to get enough wind for the speed board to get started. Wind was quite good but lightning started so I made rthe equally long walk back in. Half unrigged, chatting to Norm & NE started again quite strong. Rigged agsin & back out with the RS1 which was easier but still a fair walk. Went well for a while till it shut off like someone pulled out tyhe power cord. Of cxourse I was at that time over the far side. Much walking, a bit of sailing slowly and finally got back & unrigged in time to see the southerly busting.

I have had worse days, not sure when.

Sounds like hard work Bruce. In contrast Greg and I where incredibly lucky. For no particular reason we headed for home and literally as I dragged my gear out of the water the wind shut off. There are good days and not so good days.
