Belmont Bay (Slipways), NSW, AU

Falcon 113 KAR 7.1 BP 34 weed speed

Awesome sail after work in 15-18 ENE. Decided to give the sand islands a miss and head off into the bay. Crazy amount of chop generated by the racing yacht's made it a bit hairy. Got 30 peak a couple of times but couldnt hold the bear aways in the chop. Could have used the smaller board but had heaps of fun bouncing about. Finally took Murray's advice and got a bit higher up the bay for my quickest and last run of the day. Have to stop chasing gusts in choppy area's and concentrate on getting into flatter area's.

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU                  Warp 7.0 , rs4          Shocker of a day , broke my mast while rigging , was 40 mins into going for a hour and my boom clamp rope broke , stuck in 30 plus knots with waves breaking on my head trying to put a new rope on , that took half hour , then decided to have a run through the flat area weed beds , not a great idea with a bp42 sp/wd , big over the handle bars , but apart from pissing my pants in every jybe had a blast .

CA70 and 7.7m. Spent the day Foot Orienteering, then Mountain Bike Orienteering, so was late getting out to sail. Missed all the good wind, but still a really nice sail.

Wow love sailing different places we are so lucky in NSW to have so many top spots. Sailing different spots shows you how all places have their special days.

Great day with family and sailing with Greg.

went for the hr disappointed to not get high 26 or even 27 hr but had the demo sail to low ie pulley to pulley and it was dragging and pointing me down wind with the weed fin. Changed after the hr and went from having 36 to 40 1 second top speed on slalom board.

Bloody windy way over 30 knots I was looking for the lulls to jybe.

Love this place very pretty and great place for kids to swim but everyone else was there today as well.

mistral 91, 6.2 reflex. 18 kestral sp.

what a magic place to sail. i dont sail there enough & its so gd every time.

great sail not crazy could hav had the 7m up but thought it may pick up some

more. nice & flat once i got up high enough.

1st time with the kestral sp, not that bad, upwind is fine, spun out a little

but that was some chop & operator error when not lol.

15-22kts odd NE Peel st

6m OD - 79ltre Falcon + 19cm delta. Nice to use the smaller gear for once - so much easier gybing!

It didn't start well. I rigged the 6.4m Naish Bullit and it wouldn't rotate.. Gave up in disgust. It really doesn't suit that sailworks mast so I either have to get a Naish mast and redo the battens and cams to suit or sell it cheaply and buy a KA and hope that will suit the 430 CC mast..Yell

Not impressed as after months of hints etc I finally pursuaded my partner to come down and take the zodiac out to get photos and it looked like I'd either be massively overpowered with the 7m or underpowered with the 6m. Steam was coming out of my ears by now as I knew he'd only be coming down once..

Thought about rigging the 7m but Pete said I wouldn't hold it so rigged the 6m . It was actually a lovely comfortably powered session.

I don't know what's happening but all my b sails don't seem to rotate properly lately..even rigged as usual on the right mast. the 6m has always been one of the best but the boom cam wasn't popping properly? I had to bash it with my hand.

Maybe they have never rotated properly and I'm only just noticing? Embarassed

Today was all about posing for the camera so no real bearaways. The first half hr was probably the best but G was dragging the inflatable up into position ( couldn't use the motor due to weed and rowing not good enough with the wind.)

Felt I sailed well. No fantastic fast gybes but mostly planing ones. I have been whimping and waiting for a lull to gybe out in the chop but today decided to wait for a gust. Heaps better even surprised myself by planing through most of them.I only stacked one gybe hooking in on entry. Ow!! hurt my shin and the line had twisted tight so took a while to manage to unhook.Sealed

When I first went out I noticed I'd almost fully pulled the top 1/4 of my nail off. It was only hanging by a bit but too painful to pull off. I was worried it would affect my sailing but it was ok..UNTIL after sailing silly me asked if anyone had any scissors to cut off the protruding nail that was hitting everything and hurting like hell. Mick to the rescue with his b tin snips..B hell what part of FFFF>>>>>>>>>>>>>K!!!!!!!!!!!! don't you understand? UndecidedWink. I thought he'd ease off after the first go but 5 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! later he was still going.. Sadist..WinkLaughing

Motto - don't let  Mick get near you with his tinsnips..Sealed I kept hitting it on the car gear shift on the way home F....!!

Heaps out. I'm going to have to try and clean my clear window as it's so cloudy I could hardly see through it. Larko , powersloshin, Milsy , Mick , Frothie , Pete , Hugh , Alwyn , Paul x 2 (?) , Nigel , Tibor , Bruce and heaps more..

Photos to come. We learnt that a SLR with heavy zoom lense and a bouncy inflatable don't make for the sharpest photos..Frown Still we did get some good ones. I was hoping for some gybe photos but he didn't get any but he got a video that I can analyse although the camera wasn't good at focusing.Should have used mine..Undecided

Nice sessions Lake Mac. Good to see see Byron and Greg at our local. I think Byron now has the Wallis Lake record, so great effort on the speeds achieved. Sounds loke you had a tough day Greg, but you still did me with your speed, so well done.
