Great forecast, not so great actual wind...

Rigged the 5.9 for the promised wind. Should have rigged the 8.4. Note to self to pack big board and 8.4 even when its peaking 25knots when leaving home.

Still, it was boardies weather and a decent turnout. So happy times.

Yo Yo session, with SE/SW at Georges River.

iSonic 90L was a bit small in the lulls, but Great in the gusts. iSonic 121L was OK in the lulls, transitioning to perfect in some of the smaller gusts, but felt a bit big in the best gusts... SLR 36 fin was almost ideal in the smaller board and VMAX2.0 44cm was rock solid on the larger board. 1 Sail : Maui Sails TRX 7.7 was perfect for the day, given the variability!

Good to catch-up and say 'Happy New Year' to so many guys out today.

I had a fully planning run all the way to the northern tip of the sandbars, to find there was no wind in the off-shore shadow-lands... thankfully I was on the 121L iSonic so could slog back for a moment until I caught a ride home. But I was scared, because when I looked back, Tarren Point was shrowded in rain, and I feared my wind would die in buckets of H20. Thankfully I made it back, after 2 tacks upwind.

And surprisingly my peak speed was back towards home on a (by then) downwind run along the foreshore... Probably on my small board...

I also had a couple of cranking gybes on the iSonic 121, where the extra bouancy helped keep me on the plane and get the power back on early.

Despite the lulls a fun day overall!

Narrabeen Lake, NSW, AU || 5-15kt SSE 118L Manta, 7.0 Titan, 32cm Unifiber

A bit more consistant once it settled into SSE direction. Short but smooth runs. Met Larko and a few others. Nice day!

RS3/ Koncept 6.6 & KARace 7.1/ Sonntag 35

Underpowered most of the time, did some runs at Georges river and then went to the gas station, which was not much better. At least said hello to everyone Smile

Just a quick blast on the Maui Sails Pursuit 7m and Cheeky Monkey ML138. Then the wind died

Well done team. Drove down to the river with my 6.2 (my only sail) and the Manta 98... saw Georgio bobbing around as were others and decided it wasn't even worth getting out of the car. It was looking really promising about 6am :( Looking at Remi's results it's evident I didn't miss anything good.

Hoping my sails arrive this week. It's getting pretty frustrating, but at least they're in Sydney somewhere. See you all on the water soon.

P.S. Great numbers Nesty. Your 5x10 is less than 2kts slower than your peak, which shows you were sailing consistently well. And, you got your second best alpha ever!!

Wow... when your NM includes 6 tracks it really shows how short the runs are at lake dangerous! if you did plot 2 alphas, they'd overlap!

Haha, that's where zooming in comes in handy...makes me feel like each run is a NM 🙂 As far as LD goes it was reasonably consistent... Agonising wait Nigel, weren't they meant to arrive in November?!
