Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU || 20-30kt NE 94L Isonic 5.0 GPS 30cm Unifiber

Great vibe at the Sanctuary Point boat ramp for day 2 of the Guy Cribb course. Barks, TP, Keith, Gav and Dezza. Thanks Barks - loved that old harness. It fits really well and does the trick! Pulled of a gybe in a gust that would have been pushing 30kts Cool

Manta 98, OD 5.7, Vmax 33 || Rocket 115, OD 6.2, Vmax 37

WOW... what an absolutely epic day on Botany. That was the best Nor'Easter in a long time. Started off about 1:30, nice and steady and was nice and flat. After an hour on the new Rocket (which is a magic board!!) I was fully loaded on the 6.2, then blew a harness line out the end of the runway. Luckily it was on a port tack, so came in to change it out.

While I was faffing around on shore, the wind really started honking. The airport was reading 38kts, so I decided I'd rig the new 5.7 and head out on the Manta. Well, that was a good decision. The chop had really picked up with the wind, but the Manta was right at home in those conditions. I got some big slingshots down the runway... chasing A380s. Was playing with outhaul quite a lot today and it really helped between bare-aways and getting back up wind. Was pretty stoked to see my peak on the GT31 when I had a rest up at the top beach. Kept trying to do better, but it wasn't to be. That's a big jump in my Botany PB. Stoked on the new kit!!

Great to sail with George, Artur, Berowne, Des, Rick, Kenny and (surprisingly) plenty of other Friday bludgers.

Kyeemagh, NSW, AU || 25-30 NE

RS3/ Koncept 5.8/ Sonntag 35 and some runs with Koncept 6.6

Lucky it was not very choppy, plenty of wind, I was tailwalking bearing away, had to move the mast foot all the way forward. This is my best speed in Kyeemagh. Berone was on fire ! Good to see everyone and catch up with Roar after long time.

Kyeemagh, NSW, AU

iSonic 90L mostly... ;)  with Techtonics Pheonix 34cm, Flying Objects 32cm (one run), and Select VMax 31cm.

TRX MauiSails 7.7 initially and 6.3 mostly...

But the talk of the town was testing my Naish Speed 60L for a bit of fun! 31cm VMax was amazing!
Let's just start by saying that a speed board is less than ideal in patchy conditions, but thankfully today's NE had minimums of 15kts during its peak, well outside the no-wind-zone just of the beach! Once in the straps I found I could easily sail with either the 7.7 (which was a bit massive to gybe) or the 6.3 which (of course) felt much more comfortable).

I have to say, the speed board was nice!. It is so short (222cm) and narrow (53cm) that it doesn't bounce into most of the chop like a larger (90L) board does, except when going straight upwind, then of course you can't avoid but slam into the 1ft swell.

Glad I did it as it was a lot of fun, even if I didn't crack 40!

Also happy Alex made it back to the beach after an offshore injury! Yell

85L Tabou Rocket with 28cm fin, 5.5m sail which felt much better today after finding the top strap needed tightening.  What an excellent Friday afternoon, a bit of  chop but that just allows jumps!Sealed

Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU

Isonic 117, TR16 8.4, Keef Weedy. Out early until blown off the water.

Falcon 101, TRXI 7.0, Vector Speed Weed 24. Thought this would work but no. Wind picked up even more.

Falcon 101, TR9 5.9, Vector Speed Weed 24, This was just right.

Tried out the speed strip but it didn't work for me. Spent most time just blasting around having fun.

Lots out today with heavy traffic congestion near the boat ramp. So kept safely out of the way.

Red tracks look funny cause I had to add 2 files together due to GPs resetting...

Nice numbers Nigel and on new unfamiliar kit. Great to see you push that big Rocket so fast down the runway.

Andrew. That was a scary ride crossing the deep at SP today. Well done on hanging in there and for your new found speedy jibing!

Big gust recorded at 4:32. I think that's the most wind I've sailed at Kyeemagh.

Looking forwrd to seeing Berowne's post. He was (attempting) to ride his speed board out there today. Crazy.

Good speed Nigel, glad the new kit works for you.

Andrew, happy your enjoying some training and S.P. at the same time. I need to get down there again (been about 7 years!).

Unfortunately for me, my speedboard didn't really have a great run on the 6.3, I was hoping to crack 35 like the GPS said, but had my doubts. A lot of the bearaways were a little underdone, or windy away from the runway, but shadowed in close... or just bad timing. Definately fun for an experiment, feeling much smother than the slalom board, and proved to myself that I can deep water start with 60L and any sail...!

Stepping back onto a 90L board felt like a formula floater! So much width, so much stability, so much floatation!!! 90L is your friend.
