Was never as good as forecast, 5-12 for most of the afternoon then sea breeze kicked in as we were packing up. Gave me an opportunity to try out the new rig, 7.5 Simmer on 112 L JP. I think it will be good in the right conditions, gusty is always crap. Did have a few runs with the 6.5 which felt more comfortable although was pretty choppy onshore. PJ was doing his usual energiser bunny impersonation and Sam and Leon turned up. Still better than working

good one Geoff, 26knts was my average on that board at boggy, but i never had the conditions to let it go, also that was with my 6.7 old np saber. that 7.5 rig should be perfect, 12/18knts up the top, once you get it sorted to your liking, cant do sat fridays promising

ZOMG. That looks flatter than I ever saw LG, even in its weedy prime. I forget what it's like not to be forced to micro-manage the board over lumps.

How can I see that video? Surely those sort of conditions are rare?

As long as its a proper SEasterly and a proper low tide, those conditions occur frequently over summer, light wind though is the problem. Those guys sailing yesterday look like they had about 12 knots. I tell you what though Trousers, if we can get a 20 knot SE + very low tide, you should come sail the joint.  Not SSE but SE. Smile

Also, its about 3k out along the inside of the spit, so when you sail back to shore you will have to sail over the bay chop on the beat back. That is good fun too.

Jason JN1 took the pic's & video, I belive it is on face space, As Hoppy said happens with a low tide & a SE wind. But Se never get more than 15knts, then the tide changes & as the tide rises so does the wind but it swings sse & makes the run sweet on the starboard tack but a bash in the rough on the way back in but the tide is higher & the water state soon changes.  My Jaon cracked 43Kns there in 2015

worth the trip if you Let us locals know the company is A1 GoldSmile

Just up on seabrease BTW it never got more than 22 after the tide had changed & swung sse

Stans, before the end of summer; it's a promise. Google says I'm 3hrs away: day-trip feasable, but overnighter better/safer so needs a little bit of a plan.

How far out do you get confident from forecasts?

I might get excited earlier, but I only start to trust what the BoM says of le'Bog from 24 hours out*.

Well, partially trust. Never fully trust the BoM. :D

*le'Bog tomorrow (Sat) arvo, you bewdy!
