BIB, Corpus Christi, TX. NNE 16 knots gusting to 23 (although typical gusts were closer to 20). Tried to dial the gear in a bit today. Found I don't like the boom too high (ever though I was not very powered), and the mast base pretty far forward (despite using a weed fin).

Going upwind 400 m with the WeedDemon 33 was easy today. But seeing where the shallows started was impossible when coming in due to the low sun angle (on the water at 9 am), so I stayed too far away to be safe.

The mud flats on the far side would have allowed for ~400 m long speed runs on flat water. Where I got off, the water was just below knee deep; it never got much shallower at  other spots that Nina checked out (but she used a 15 cm fin today). Maybe I'll check it out sometime with a smaller fin, or perhaps a delta. Although the wind will shift back to SE for the next 3 days
