BIB, CC, TX. SSE 26 mph G 36. Quite choppy at the launch today. Had planned on a freestyle session, but soon too powered on 5.0/110 to fool around. Traveled to the mudflats and the South Bird Island Bay in search for flatter water - SBIB was nice, but the wind was weak near shore. Sailed back and took the 3S 96 out, but the chop felt worse rather than better. Then I had a little break when the inhaul broke at the spoil island a km from shore, but fortunately in knee deep water. Took a while to switch and jury rigg lines, though. The sail back was quite interesting - sail wide open, since the boom had was not tight and the sail had no outhaul tension, but still fully planing. Did a few nice laydown jibes today - well, not sure if they really were laydown, but they felt good! For once, I did not fall victim to carve fascination every time.

On the bright side, Nina made some progress on the Vulcan, and saw Mark complete his first one - after at least 6 years of trying!
