Lilacs Mistral SL91 Pepeweed 29 and first TR17 6.3 then TR16 7.0

Fun with Morts on a sunny day.

Hoped for a better alpha, speed on return leg let me down.

It is my 6th top 5 for 2017 so not bad, and fn on the water. Alpha with 7.0

prox about 46 metres

Koncept 6.2, Sonic 56w + Tribal sw23

Wind didn't quite come in as much as hoped & I probably should have changed to a larger sail. Tried for Alphas & as you can see failed miserably, the actual Alpha was about the 2nd gybe I did, at the end I was not really trying for them!

Stiil had fun though Smile

Thrilled with the 7.0 Tr16. Rigs really well using the factory settings, tough construction. Yet to try the 5.9.

Based on the 7.0 I recommend the Tr16s.

6.3 TR17 bottom 2 cams not rotating onto port tack..... tried down and out haul and batten adjustments: no change. Rigged on Maui recommended mast. Will discuss with Remi. Maybe there is a cam adjustment.

Nice going guys, morts are you going too wide?

Steve, I check cams by how loose the luff is at the cam. You should be able to pinch the luff tube and just get a little slack, if it's too tight will definately impede rotation.

Thanks Mike I will take a look. I worked out that if I gently push the bottom cam with my foot both cams rotate. The last sail I had to do that on was a RS slalom mk 1 7.8, several years ago. Every gybe I needed to push the cam. Not going to do that this time.

Thanks Anita. I am gybing the SL91 in a wide arc, therefore I cannot get good speed on the return leg. I either need to work out how to tighten the arc or do alphas on my JP54SP.

Bit of everything I think Mike. Too wide in the turn, not enough grunt to get back up to speed & not enough fin to hold the height. Tide dropped as well so it got a bit draggy. Think I should have put more effort into trying Alphas at the Kiters end as they seemed to be working better today.
