Hey Snides a few questions forya.  Those speeds seem slow, and on an ordinary windsurfer would feel a bit slow and boring.  I geuss there's no way you'd even plain in light winds on a 5.7m on a windsurfer?  If you'd couldn't plane on a windsurfer then 18 kts is much faster?  What does it feel like travelling at 18kts on a foil?  Ta J

With the number of sessions you're getting on the foil you should be assigned the rank of Flying Officer Snides! Great to see you are enjoying it so much, it's a great alternative for light wind days. I've got a couple of new windfoil setups waiting to be used, can't wait. Water is a balmy 37 degrees F here in the Gorge!

@Joe Yep they are slow, however speed is relative...usually when i am sailing/foiling...all other windsurfers are either bobbing Or sitting in the backs of trailers and cars..Saturday i was out with Daz he was on his formula so he was around 4 kn faster across the numbers- an expert sailor using twice the size sail- in contrast i was a beginner using half the size sail. Foils will revolutionise light wind sailing. The feel of 18/20knots from high above the water, in winds sometimes as low as 6-8 knots is heart in the mouth stuff. @ Roo I think rank is closer to corporal (corporal punishment actually)...i long for the 8-12kn forecasts!! Also a relatively flat river That's a bit harder to arrange...contrary to popular belief water state still has an effect-yes you can fly over the chop But i tend to 'skip' or touchdown more often...flat water = way more flight time. @Raygun Was that you who waved? Sorry i dint wave back...had a bit on at the time. The river was a washing machine at time Making it hard to pump on to the foil at times. Interesting crossing ferry wakes with some serious foil twitching happening under foot!!
