Short but sweet sail at Ballina, NSW, AU. When I first got in, the wind was due south and perfect for running along the wall/alphas. Then the wind kicked hard(local gauge showed a few 30knot gusts), but swung slightly SE, and my harness spreader bar snapped. I didn't have a spare today, dang!! 7m was becoming a real handful anyway. This was the second strongest wind I have seen there but definitely the most consistant(still gusty). It was a great sail for Ballina. A couple local guys getting back into sailing were out there too which was excellent.

When walking back to the car my GW60 showed a 59 knot spike. A big thanks to Ian for showing me how to get rid of the spike in GPSresults and still be able to load through KA72.

Test sail against luke on Falcon 99 v my Hawk 99.

He was all over me in the bare offs but nothing in it when reaching, some geat racing Cool

And REALLY happy to have got over 30knots on my hawk. Totally over cooked at the end Laughing

Started out nice 12-15kts ESE, but then the wind built to 20-25 and the big gear was a handful.  Good day on the water, lots of crew present.

Thanks guys!

Geoff it really is good on the right day! One guys name is Neale, I met him once before and have his number. He is keen and doing really well considering he is only one year into it. I didn't get the other guys name as we only said a quick hello on a sand bank, but he lives near Bangalow and said he usually sails at Brunswick heads in the northerlies. He had old gear, like from the 80's. Seemed like a real long term local so I reckon you would know him for sure. There was another guy out there on a long board when I arrived but he came in as I got in. 2 kiters at dog beach too, it was the busiest day I have seen at Ballina.Cool

You just around 25 knots mark Eric . By my standards you are entering proffesional sailors territory.
I don't know how you do this. It must be that fantastic RRD board that drive by itself and you just hang on firmly. Cool
