Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Another miserable day chasing the wind for a bit of planing..Luckily l had Bruce to share the misery with and looking on to Johnny who had the good sense to use bigger gear than 80_90 L boards and 7m sails.

Bonnells Bay, NSW, AU

Maaui S2 7.7m, exocet RS4, select V max 39.

sweet session 1.5hr 50km before work.

Godd feeling doing over 32knots on that size gear in full open water chop.

I hit a fish and it wraped around my fin. I recon 40 cm tailor died on impact my fin cut 3/4 thru it how funning no injury and I stayed on just laughed when I looked to see what tha? Almost thought to sail it back as it was a good size fish but hard to sail kms back with a big fish around your fin so off it went to fish heaven.

5-20 kts Coal Point, NSW, AU

I couldn't have timed it better, Thats a good speed for me in open chop without bearing off much. Smile

Got to Coal and about 5-15kts ..A few minutes of 5 kts then a few of 15kts..

Rigged the big kit . Enjoyed the long runs across to either side but a bit worried about something going wrong or the wind kicking in as I would have ended up a long way from the launch! I haven't sailed Coal in a S and the chop seemed a lot more friendly than in a NE.

It kicked in 15- 20 kts as I headed over to Marks Pt so I went right in and stopped to turn around. Bit of a hassle due to the current wanting to turn the board but got going and a scary run back in.

Decided to risk the smaller gear although it could have turned off at any moment.

Rigged the RS2 with the new 6.6m KA and 33 makani fin. Wow ! What a great combo. The sail rotated beautifully and was nice and light and well behaved.

Fell off in shark alley near the channel and surprised myself with the speed of my lightwind waterstart..lol's

It had kicked in to about 20kts + by now so it was a full on run back. I did a few more runs but as I was the only one out and the stronger wind was getting scary with that combo I decided to play it safe and quit while I was ahead.

I could have stayed out a bit longer. It had picked up as a rain shower came through but then dropped off to ideal for about 20 mins. It then died to 5kts so I was glad I was back on shore! Smile

Really enjoyed the sail.. What a difference a decent fin makes!
