CA70 and 7.7m. Great NE, Byron, Walshy, Tony, Greg, Scott, Geoff and a few others. Pretty rough over at the islands but a few good gusts

Falcon 113 KAR7.9 WS too small

My recent decision to forget about my 2 sec and learn how to sail properly! amounted to stuff all as I was under finned all afternoon and sailed like a busted arse. Struggled to make any distance upwind and get any drive through my gybes. The gusty conditions didnt help but I was atrocious. Finished the arvo by running aground in the shallows, smashing the nose of my board, breaking a harness line and, for a split second, thinking i'd snapped my new Enigma boom. Comedy gold.

Coal Point, NSW, AU Naish 110 6.6 Hucker. Just another fun session. Really lite early then it picked up enough for a bit of bump and jump, changed to a weed fin to head over to sand islands but found it too up and down and choppy to really get any good speeds. All the big (strong) boys out. Scotty was killing it.

A pleasant surprise..sunshine rege etc..we need just that one gust...dont we!

Used my bigger board for a change but still only with the 7m race ..perhaps l should use it more often?!?!

Wow glad I didn't sail, too many super stars in one place........ But I'm going to be the wind sacrifice for a while, thank me later. You crack me up Jeff, whose idea was it to sail normally :(

Shut up Larko. SmileIts not about speed you know! Its about learning the difference between shallow water and deep water. When the sand looks really close, that means shallow. Yea, thanks again for your pricless advice as usual Lyds. I was going perfectly well before I took it!

Steady on Larko, when I said go over to the sand islands and try an improve your 2 sec by hitting a sandbar, and attempting to break your new Enigma, I was joking, never thought he would listen to me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Geoff, the blue tracks are yours from today and mine are the red ones. I have marked the areas you should avoid. Just about everbody has hit the lower one. You can see I always go through the same gap, once through you can go where you like. Today was quite deep but it pays to play it safe.

Hey Jeff you love the shallows and therefore testing the strength of BOOMS! Maybe you need some sort of depth alert?

Thanks Andy, Im a slow learner. This is helpful. I think i will play it safe by just staying in a least 5M of water. Ive been sailing ok in the chop. - I was glad I went for the larger diameter 180-230 Brad. It handled it well. - I will just follow you from now on Byron. I will just need you to slow down a bit and drop every third gybe.
