Hardie (35723km): Great wind but no flat water. Tabou Manta 59/88 TR9 5.9m Pepeweed 22/48, great sailing with the boyz. trying to train myself not to look at the GPS while 'm sailing, so there was no downers when I don;t see the spped I wanted, but no jubilation or fist pumps, when I see a high speed, Hmmmmm gotta think about this more.
ratz (10868km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU a very messy sail wind up and down and swinging around a fair bit. not very successful in the hunt for flat water. used a iso 86 with a leading edge b4 pointer and a 6.2 severne R3.
Elmo (31413km): Mistubishi Outlander, Trailer full of goodness. Week 3 of shut down, didn't have to run around after my folks tonight wind blowing the planets were alligning I had woirked it so I could go for a sail. Start hooking up trailer, can't figure out what key to use to unlock it. Phone goes of with a customer wanting to talk. Set of for Herron point. Make it around 3 corners (not yet on the main road) and the fuel light goes on, Better sort that out. Fuel sorted head down to Heron point, turn up and the carparks empty, hang on whats all those cars on the other side of the estuary, bugger I'm at Island point. Head out of te Island point driveway to see Hardz drive past, wonder werehe came from? Followed him back onto the main drag. Chatting with Simon going down the old coast road looking for the Old Bunbury Rd turn off almost mistakenly turn down Lake Clifton Rd, keep on driving looking for the turnoff ending up down at the end of the road. Hit the forrest highway start heading Nth, pass the Old bunbury road turn off now called "Lake Clifton Rd". Starts raining and it's Farken windy the trailer is moving around a bit, I'm stasrting to lose interest. Finally get to the Herron Point Rd turn of. Get to the end of the Road to see Paul in nothing but his shorts, hats and smile (there realy should be a law against those shorts) waiting for the next squall. He gets going but I just can't be stuffed. It's GAF, it's choppy, the wind is swinging more than one of Franga's key swap parties. Paul looks like he's having fun though, putting toggether some good runs in the lumpy goodness. Good to catch up with Decrep Firey and Paul. Went home via a much shorter route via the shortcut Hardz took when I saw him. 1 month and counting since my last sail
Decrepit (54500km): Well that's my adrenalin rush for the week! Over powered in the gusts with the 5.4, but the 20cm 45d fin in the 48cm board handled the chop OK. Good mandurah mob turnout, unsuccessfuly trying to find CSTs Heron Pt secret WNW flat water. Too much water? Too much wind? Wrong wind direction? Who knows but no CSTers were there. Slugger made a 5:30 work start and texted me mid morning saying it was 16 average with 22 gusts. I didn't make it until 12:30, followed by Firie, Hards, Sammy and Barry. Oaf arrived as we all left the water, and Elmo arrived as the wind died off. Firie and Slugger were going to join me in a downwind search for some flat water, but Slugger snapped a baton and Firie got slammed by a gust with his too big 6.6. My last downwind run was full on, so I just went with the swell lines and luckily didn't find too many moguls. I'm well happy with the 29 NM not bearing off all that much and much choppier than I'm comfortable with at that speed, (max 32.9). At the end of it I was all on my own, Could just make out Firie and Slugger going back upwind to base, so decided to call my downwind search off, and headed back myself. The tack back out seemed much choppier than the downwind run, wasn't comfortable at all, so by the time I got back was ready to quit. Sammy and Fire went for a couple of runs on the north side of the island, bearing off between the island and island pt. I was half tempted to try it, but the wind picked up a bit more, and I rested on my laurels.

Here's my tracks. Maybe if I'd got to the sandbank at bottom right of pic, there'd be some flat water inside there?
SluGger (13722km): Birchmont, WA, AU Great to catch up with the crew and god to meet you Alan. really struggled with conditions broke a batten but still had great fun.

Firiebob (17842km): Herron Pt, WA, AU Got to the point, quick yack with Mad Mike and Slugger, consensus was it's windy. Ok I'll go my favourite sail my 5.8, slid the mast up and realised wrong mast and yep the right one was home, Fang might be right, won't be long and it'll be the dementia ward Ok not giving up, rigged my 6.6, went out and hey all good, that was untill the gusts came through. Had quick pow wow with Mad Mike n the Slug, lets stick together and head down wind to the Herron holly grail flat water spot. Took off and all good, got a wild gust so went into gay boy mode, that was untill Mad Mike flew past like a GPS mad man, I'm not having that so F it I'm going for it but poor little not as old me gave up. Watched the mad old bastard disappear and started to think of excusses, I'm not going to admit I couldn't keep up with Zimmer Man in the same conditions At end of day it was great to catch up with the crew, Slug, Sammy, Hardenup, Mad Mike, Paul and Lost Red n Fluffy. Sorry I didn't hang around Paul, I was wet n cold. Highlight of the day was a warm shower, a couple of reds n cheese with my child bride. As Herby says, life's good CA SL87, 27 Tribal WS, 6.6 Koncept and boardies. I'll post a couple photos of the flying Pom later
Jonski (6717km): Point Herron, 110 Isonic + 6.4 North Duke, Actully had my wave gear in the car and it would of been a much better option. I was super late getting out on the water so made a choice and stuck with it. I had never been to Point Herron before and i found a lot of shallow point but a pretty good option in a Westerly.
Oaf (7363km): Birchmont, WA, AU My first sail in about a month. Great to get on the water. Heron Point; one of my favorite places to sail. Got a few great gusts but flat water was hard to come by, the tide was way up. It was dropping really fast by the time I packed up, even bottomed out on the sand bars a couple times. Although it was getting smoother the wind was getting dodgier. It was great to see so many out at Heron Point and to meet Slugger for the first time. Thanks to the guys who hung around in the rain while I sailed, it was nice to know somebody knew where I was.
