Point Walter, WA

On the water at 9.45 - Mark was already out.

The wind was pretty light but increased to about 20 knots at about 11 - and then booted in as I was packing up Frown

The plan was to back up Craig in case Nick doesn't make it to Albany - but the gusts were too short and it was quite choppy for speed.

Good fun even though it was cold and raining Laughing

Jesper turned up with a smart looking Simmer slalom sail Cool

Whoah this place is pretty good, and this arvo was high tide so not as flat apparently.

A quick gday to the local lads then straight out. Seems like miles of flat compared to what im used to.

First hr on the 112. A real handful toward the end of the hour. Salty and penny were smashing the hour too.

Plenty of familiar mandurah and coastals enjoying the cooler waters.

Great to be part of a pinnas pair with the bozanator.

Might be a dawn thrashing in the morning.

Lots of fun Lilacs has huge potential when the water is not as choppy as it was today, was good to back up Lunny but I think I have found the limit of the Plastic Fantastic Tiga 260, Will give it another go in a early morning start if the wind keeps up. Caught up with Doddi as well as a few of the locals.

Morning session before the W word. Just enough wind most of the time with the odd downwind squirt.

Thanks for the back up backup JJ! Nicely done.

Craig, lovely nm. Congratulations on a well deserved PB. A second best hour, a big alpha too, and a good 2 sec for the conditions. Which gybe style were you using today? I'd say a top ten Lilacs day!

Boz! I thought you weren't sailing until tomorrow! Good thing you made it today, I think. Good numbers all round with the museum piece board.  I thought about lending you my board but at the rate you smash things... Big Distance! Looks like you were having fun.

It is so good to have a pair of Pinnaroo sailors at Lilacs for once. First time, I think. I have had so little interest in a road trip there I have stopped posting the Albany forecast.

Thanks for the boost up the ladder, guys.

I was planning to head out. I came home from work, had lunch, wind was 20 - 27 kn, so I took all the big gear out of the car and replaced it with the small gear, and was just about to head off when my parents called in. By the time they had left the wind had dropped to 14 - 18 and looked like it would back off further, so I stayed home

Well done on some great numbers Craid and Nick, good to meet you both. Not great Lilacs conditions but it was nice to be on the water with wind and mates.

Good session bos and lunny, and congrats on the PB NM, but you'll smash that if you get there on a good day. On a good day it's typical for the NM to be around 2kts less than the 2s, that means you'd have close to a 36.

PJ the tiga has a rocker line on it that resembles a wave some flat some negative some positive, all the talk about flexi tails in boards I have the original flexi board that changes the rocker line as you sail, not the fastest of boards but a lot of funSmile
