Stansbury, SA, AU 17-25-30 SW-SSW

FF102.GPS6.6, Lessacher 28.

Teed up an early start, 7.30, with Tricky but had to call early and change it to 9.30 because the power went off and i couldn't microwave my poridge. It was off shore SW and the choice was. 102,6.6 combo or 90,5.8 combo. Decided for powered up and used the big gear. Was good fun but hard to get a good hour with short runs across the spit. The 6.6 is a great sail and handled the 20-25 with ease. A 30+ squall came across and i couln't sail through it so sat it out on the spit with the gear in the water. Did a fast run NM attempt later but it must have been too shortFrown

Thanks for the beer buddySmile

Hoppy keeps pumping up the westerlys but there still shitSurprised The wind was swinging around & up & down like Carl in a brothel LaughingWink

Made the most of the conditions Rigged the Loft6.3 RB on the Isonic86 with a 29 Gun Weedie, good combo for the first hr then had trouble keeping on the plane, then water starting was a struggle,Cry Was working my way back in when the wind kicked back in for a bit more punishment, was realy gusty 5-23 ish, As the tide was getting high the water messy we decided we had had the best of what was on offer for the day. All in all a good Sunday morning workout, even if Hoppy woke me upEmbarassed because he had no power & didnt want to miss out on his porrage & Coffee for breakyUndecided as he had booked in a early start to hit the water to catch the wind & tide. Was super hard work on the short runs lineing up a gust to get any sort of numbers, chalangeing but hard work got some rewardCool

el Bog, Chilly western squalls came thru angry and black, pelting us with rain. Either side it would whip into a frenzy. Pallamana BoM claims a 37kt gust this morning, and from shoreside it was believable. But mostly around the mid 20's. Some serious lump but smooth patches were sometimes inbetween.

I waited but ultimately resigned to riding the falcon 79, 5.2 hellcat, sitting on a BP-S295 Leon lent me. The first couple of runs sent me running home. Launching, sliding, all out of control. No actuals, but plenty of near misses. It was clearly a matter of time, so I slunk in and had lunch.

It moderated a bit then so I went back out. Some small tweaks made peace with the Falcon and it was better. I still got a way to get as comfortable with it as the isonic, but will commit to riding it more in coming sessions.

Good turnout considering, Sam & Carl were fanging, other-Shane came later, ChrisD eating it up like it was no thang, and Leon warping aorund on wave gear.

Great day at boggy lake.  So good to catch up with Sam for the usual shananigans Wink - been too long between sails.  Also great to catch up with Chris D, Trousers, Shane T, Nicola and Gordy Smile.  1st powered up sail for a long time with the ocassional lul and some decent fronts.  Like a washing mahine in front of the carpark but really good up the top - really enjoyed cruising with Sam, Chris D and Shane T.  Managed to time a couple of nice gusts.

More of this please .....Smile

Boggy lake 20 to 25 sw with some bigger fronts.

Patrik 87 / 5.6m Gun sails GSR / Select s07 29cm fin.
