Port Douglas, QLD, AU - Had a great afternoon's sail with Ian, James and Ed.  The sun was out.  Wind was pretty good, so I rigged the 7.2m Fusion and went out.  Ian had smashed up his sail and was a bit worse for wear.  James was leaping around and Ed was doing his thing.  Then, after half an hour the wind died off pretty badly - after half an hour of getting knocked down the beach, it fortunately kicked up again and I managed to get some good time on the water.  The chop was pretty harsh - Ed is pretty annoyed with the condition of his new board.  But this wind is pretty consistent right now, so we have to get amongst it.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU - Futura 90, Aerotech rapid fire 6M, Tribal 27 cm WS

Wind was up and down all afternoon so constant rig adjustment was needed.  Had a great afternoon until I fell off the side of a cliff face diring a gybe out the back and  landed heavuly on the board and went through the sail, seconds later the wind picked up the board and threw it at me fin first,  so I ended up with a small gash on my leg. After that i decideded to call it a day

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Yer what can i say about todays session..Got down the beach after 8hrs on the tools..Ian and James had already been out blasting and were back on the the beach looking for some bigger weapons ,, Said the wind had started to drop out..Rigged 7.3m North rig on 97lt Isonic 38cm fin.. by the time i hit the beach it was windy enough to' blow a dog off its chain'..ocean was really rough and there was seaweed  as far as the eye could see..Yer this wasn't what i ordered..just wanted a easy after work blast..Hit it as hard as i could and was totally maxed out on big rig all arvo..could not get confortable no matter what i did Just got totally pounded the whole time in a very chopped up sea..Ian had a total wipe out and destroyed his 6m rig and looked very bruised and batted at the end of the day..James was going hard on a 6m rig but did a few board changes trying to find the right tool for the job..Had a few good drags with the boys which was good fun and i had to work hard to keep James under control..Andrew came out for a blast in the second half and was lit up on Big Isonic and wandered back in just on dark with a big grin on his face.'.Good one Andrew'..The sad news is 97lt isonic isn't looking well, did some repairs to it the other day ,it had two big stress cracks in the deck which i fixed. But after todays session deck wasn't in good shape..Looks like ths board has got a one way ticket too the the wheelie bin..That seem to be where they all end up..Bit disapointed. thought this one was gunna be a' keeper.'......Cheers Ed

Well done lads, the first rule of a brighter future is keeping the economy booming. Sounds like you 3 lads are doing an awesome job. Nothing but carnage, physical and material. Not sure I would have expected anything less.... Looking forward to catching up over the weekend and hoping the breeze keeps a hold on the coast and this rain stays away. There was talk of a session at Kurramine this weekend - can anyone confirm this?

Had great afternoon sail up at Pt D 16-20 kn. As Ed said there was more weed in the sea than around town, which was hard work to dodge. The sea was pretty rough mostly due to the full tide - but that made for some nice ramps.  Had plenty of good racing with Ian and Ed who both go faster than me - I used to catch up in the gybes but their gybes are getting better all the time.

Billy, we are heading to Kurramine on the May day long weekend 28 -1 st I have booked the big double storey house on the corner near the CWA units, your welcome to come and stay, and Freddy if he is up to it and anyone else up this way for that matter - should be plenty of beds - lets hope there is some wind. If not, we are going down for a social anyway. Ed, Sue and Isobella are coming.

Billy this weekend, I`m out tomorrow for tennis but if there is still wind about Sun count me in

I forgot to mention I also contributed to the gear carnage with two completely ripped footstraps - luckily I was able to grab two off a spare board.
