I had and awesome and not so awesome experience. I met Mark and he spent about half an hour showing me how to tune my rig for speed. It looked really good, better than I've ever seen it. That was the awesome part. It was getting late by the time I got to go out. Low tide and the sunn reflecting so I hit a rock as I took off. Did a couple of speed runs but the gear felt weird, especially because I moved the mast track back about 9cms. I hindsight I should have left the mast track where I usually have it and just got used to the new setup. I got a few runs in but couldn't get real ocmpfortable then missed a jibe a bit over a kilometer out, then missed a waterstart, then the outhaul came off, then the boom clamp came undone, then my the base of my fingernail came loose. I was beginning to think I'd be out there all night. Managed to come in over the rocks at Isolators and walk up the beach. I might have a lie down now.

Nice late seabreeze of about 15 knots, briefly kicked in to about 18 knots at about 4.30.

Cruised around on the longboard for a while - top speed 22 knots.

Thought I'd hit Pinnaroo for a quick sail, breeze came in at 3pm around 15 knots but faded for a while but picked up for around a hour or so late in the day. Real choppy with the boats and jetskis but was fun on the trusty plastic Tiga.

Turned out to be windier than expected. Wind started off very light then picked up towards sunset to the point where I was a little overpowered on the big sail and board.

First time to really test the vector weedy. Provides plenty of lift but is not raked back enough to shed the ribbon weed in the bay so I was forced to battle the swell in Warnbro sound.

A nice day to sail with Lunny and others.

Another fine arvo with a fine few. It really is nice there, similar to yesterday with a bit more power in the hands.

Rob

Discussing windsurfing technique and theory with Mark is always and awesome experience. He is so knowledgaeble.

His awesomeness doesn't usually make your gear fall apart.

I am glad you nade it back safely.

Better luck next time.

Hey Rob, sorry it didn't work out. I stayed to watch the first couple of runs and you looked to be going well.

All part of the adventure!?Embarassed

Normally I would be fine, the negative outhaul was so negative the boom fell off, the loop just dropped out of that Chinook quick rig pulley. Next time I'll run the rope through a hole, its not like it needs a pulley when there is no outhaul. I probably should have clicked the boom in one notch but I was desperate to get out and try the new setup. Mark showed the advantage of fine tuning with a winch too. I usually lay on my back with my foot against the mast, pull and make a wrestling noise.
