2547 days ago 2 categories Kalmus and Egg Island. What looked like a nice SSW low tide session quickly turned into a very bumpy WSW session in the high 20s, prompting me to switch from the Falcon to the 3S 96. Had the 6.0 Matrix rigged, anyway, since I was still tired from shlogging the cambered sail yesterday, and did not trust the wind today. Nina then suggested to go over to Egg Island, which was a lot of fun at low tide. The direction was too square for top speed, but the gear combo is not that fast, anyway. Very nice for jibes, though - got a top 5 alpha (which the watch did not show), which also was my fastest alpha on non-slalom boards. Should have known that this would be a typical WSW Kalmus day with the wind staying 10 mph above the forecast for a few hours! At least this time, we made it back before the wind dropped, which felt super-easy compared to the usual upwind shlog.
