After an horrendous start to the day when some w****r stole my wallet out of our van during the night and tried every cash machine in Felixstowe and after some anxious moments on the phone to the bank who were brilliant quickly stopping the card after one transaction and lucky for use we only lost £110, it could have so much worse!

Neil rang at 10.30 saying he and Lee were at The Dip and it was sunny and breezy, so after breakfast I headed down at eleven and Neil had rigged 6.9 with Lee going for 7.5 so I took a chance with 6.5 and 115lt. While never being overpowered the set up was perfect for the lumpy sea.

Sadly, I couldn’t find any speeds but it was good fun trying in the sunshine with up to 20 other windsurfers out during the day! I beat up to the River Deben but didn’t go in as light wind there, there was some really confused chop as the outgoing tide messed up the sea by the channel bouys. From the corner of kite beach, I could sail broad in the slightly flatter water then beat out to the red and white marker and do it all again getting some nice gybes close to the beach but out to sea it was a big mess and you had to slow down to survive! When going broad I was way underpowered hence the slow speeds. I tried a mile run but again just too rough but it did make my legs sing!

Mag walked down from home, a long way into a head wind and there was some top banter on the beach – top day, that’s three days windsurfing in a row luckily the wind is lighter tomorrow and going north thank goodness!
