Best decision I made was to pack it in & head to Gourmandise for coffee & cake before the thunderstorm arrived.

2526 days ago As you read this, King Stretch's most deadly operative is being awarded a Congressional Medal of Honour. Today he surpassed all his previous attempts at sabotage by a wide margin. Now, he may tell you he is blind. He may tell you that he didn't realise that sails are usually attached to masts. He may tell you that he felt the top panels of my sail looked too 'closed' and needed opening up to breathe easier. He may even attempt to tell you he was testing my Fangyfin's wear resistance against mono-film. Do not believe him. He was under orders and carried out those orders with deadly efficiency.
Me, I used to have a Koncept 8.5. Now I have two 4.2's. But on the plus side, I can tell you that my FangyFin in The Slasher's hands will not only cut a sail neatly when it's lying in the water, but the fin will also emerge unscathed from the contact.
But despite having to exhaust Pas’ supply of duct tape to keep the remnant mono film from flapping around like a broken arm, I still had a good time. Toby, Decrepit, Pas and Firie (and at the end, Stroppo) managed to join in and salvage a fun little cruise around. The highlight of the day was watching Bob lay down some smoking runs as the squall approached and hit. It was a relief to see that he continues to take profound measures to avoid heat stroke whilst sailing. Hopefully, Slasher will post the photo of our own pot of Firiegold at the end of the rainbow, checking to see if he needed to change his title from Mr to Mrs.
Good fun, def Top Ten Fangy Day despite the success of the operation from south of the border.
Oh and my Canmore data is now looking decidedly gappy, and I don't think it can be trusted, so I have posted my results using my phone. I have bought a Ublox Neo8 chipset, and a circuit board and biggish battery to process and write to an SD card. After exams, I will sit down and do some soldering and coding and hopefully get a small helmet mounted kick arse logger made up, that will run all day at 10hz. But in the meantime, my data will be MIA. However, you can be assured that regardless of lacking a certifiable device, it will the best data of the day.

2526 days ago A fun welcome Toby back light wind session, at Fangys.
Slugger/Slasher was flying around when I arrived, Fangy was about to launch and Toby was praying for more wind. Fin and Firie arrived while I was rigging.
When I went to the car to extract the 53 I found it AWL! Some how it had evaded my attempt to load it into the wagon.
I must keep a better eye on it in the future.
So had to use big yellow, and the 6.6koncept. started off with the filleted fin, to see how it works in the bigger board. Wasn't too bad, but I knew the 29@45 would be better. As there was plenty of depth and minimum weed, I came in and changed over.
That felt better, but I was still bouncing around in the chop, maybe I need to try a bigger fin?
I came in and found Stroppo rigging up, he said there was some heavy stuff he'd seen on the radar heading our way. He didn't make it out before it arrived but Fin and Firie were still out there in the middle of it. They both managed to hang on, --- just.
Best thing of the day, was watching Firie walk in at the end of a full rainbow, hope the pic came out sluSlasher

Dissapointing afternoon session. Showed so much promise but the wind had no stamina and kept stopping for a rest. Was hoping to get some good alphas in the lee of penguin island but never even made it out that far. Boz came down for a look and sensibly didnt bother rigging. Should have joined you guys down in fangland for some sail repair lessons from the master of duct tape.

Got the call Toby had abandoned the French Alps and was in town for a sail, that's as good an excuss as any for a blast
I rolled up and did the usual how ya going back slapping when Simon Sizzor Hands came in and said he'd given the Lunchbox Kid a good slashing, hmm I was hoping he didn't pee on him. When I went out the wind was a bit how ya going at times, with some some ball bag tea bagging in the lulls, but then when there was a puff it was great. I had a couple of runs chasing Mighty Mike down the swell/chop lines, I hope I'm as good as him when I grow up. At the end of my day Pas and I were hit by the mother of all squalls, the water was smoking and the rain was pelting, it was then I thought a wet suit might have been a good idea. I did try and sail after the wind had died down a bit but just didn't have the balls for it, I think they did a runner when I got cold so I called it off.
Great to catch up with some of the Mob and Strop, my first sail in a while so I'm happy, a top day in Frangaland
