Trev (3183km): Wello P. 144l starb c, 7.7gaastra, 43cm fin. On first run, just out by last leaders of boat channel; hit rope under water from crab pot. Smashed boom front end into very small plastic pieces. Had to limp back in. Used big sail boom after that - but never felt right - as had to adjust harness lines and wind dropped off. Glynn was out - but his GPS watch was having a problemo. He did plane more than I did. Now I need a new boom head end. Picture shows track - first run and then hit rope and came to crash.
Boombuster (65256km): No wind in well over two weeks so keen for a sail wind was 14kts on arrival but turned out was very gusty and dropping off still I managed some planning runs in very flat water due to a very low tide. As I was entering the water Trev came walking from a walk of shame after breaking his boom head gotta watch out for those crab pot ropes on low tide as they float more on the surface and the fishermen seem to put them right where we sail. Watch woud not turn on I was thinking it was flat but when I got home and plugged it into the charger it came on with full batt bars I later found out it goes into shut down mode after 10days and won't turn on manualy this is crazy not sure why they program this into it this means you have to remember to start it at home or carry the charge clip in the car.
