Port Douglas, QLD, AU Worked my ass off till 2o'clock..Managed to get down the beach for happy hr. wind was meant to be 18 to 20kts so rigged burnt out 7.3m North rig on 97lt isonic 38cm fin.Had the tide from hell running all arvo so had to stay hard on the wind the whole time..  Sail was fully powered up  as the wind gods didn't realy deliver our nice breeze as promised..Managed to stay blasting the whole time but couldn't realy lite it up, Had to pump it on to the plain after almost every gybe..There wasn't a lot i could realy do except sit back and clock up a few kms..Andrew put in a good effort but was a bit down on hp..Think he might of got a good nautical mile  while on his way to NZ looking for wind..He bought me a bottle of burbone as payment for board repairs..'Thanks mate',not sure how much will be left in the morning..Cheers Ed

Whyanbeel, QLD, AU

something went wrong with my GPS as there's no way I did 31 knots.

Wind was promising so rigged my 7.2m and atomiq 120 45 fin.  Had trouble staying on the plane - should have rigged my north s type 7.8m.

I have resolved to get rid of my Fusion 7.2m to someone - maybe Mark or Ben - I have just purchased a Neil Pryde Hornet - twin cam 7.2m from Perth.  I have decided I have enough experience to get into the twin cam games - something about stability in higher wind, and more momentum through the lulls.

Very frustrating - but I did about three hours, getting knocked up the beach and trying to work my way back up against a stiff current.  My mate Ed had trouble planing without pumping on his North s type 7.3 - and his small board.  We should have rigged big.  It was a 100m walk out to the waves.  At the end of the session we were both very happy.

Gave Ed a bottle of medicine for all the nose jobs he's given my board - and now, with the waist harness and setting my boom high - I think I might have found a solution - looking forward to more wind.
