Sailed with ED this afternoon at Port. Hit the water at 2:30 pm with the wind light but increasing steadly by 4 pm the afternoon breez had kicked in, 20 Knots out the back. Tide was low and out, giving nice flat water in close but the wade home throught the mud wasen't the best end of the day. anyhow well worth the drive to PD

2524 days ago Port Douglas, QLD, 'Battle off the Isonics' Hit the water at low tide with Ian who was keen for a good blast..We were both on 'fully pumped' 117 isonics ,one was wood and one was carbon, with big rigs and finned up to the max..Water was flatter than usual especially in close which was a nice change to the 'ball breaking' chop we usually get up here..had a nice 15kts from the south east that slowly built up as the arvo progressed.. had a great blast and some good drags with Ian who sailed his big ISO better than i have ever seen him sail it..All good fun.. Have spent a few sessions dialing in 7.8m Gastra rig i got of Andrew after my 7.7m Niel pryde had a total 'melt down'..Managed to fleece Billy RDM gorilla mast which he said was the right tool for the job and hard to break.. he was right.. Rig has a good power band, and still easy to handle in20kts which we got late in the afternoon out in the big pool..Did a board change and clocked up the last 25kms on 97lt Isonic playing in a choppy sea and a fast incoming tide...Yer, i guess it was worth rigging up for..Cheers Ed..
