Teralba, NSW, AU

Exocet RS6, TR8 7.6, Vmax 43 - Wind WNW 5-20 knots

Great to get back on the water - last session was 2nd April!  Warm, sunny, and some good gusts at Teralba to hook into.  Probably around 15 sailors there which made it even better being able to catch up with all my mates.

Terrific session. Heaps out. Typical on-off Teralba but good fun. Disappointed I couldn't manage a decent alpha.

Gusty but great to get some powered up sailing in. I'm happy with my numbers considering it was gusty and choppy.  Sue your not the only one who's tired that breeze wore me out pretty quickly.

Teralba, NSW, AU. 6.6 Hucker 110 Naish. Not going for speed today but surprised by the numbers. Heaps out despite the very up and down wind.

Wind at last. Too much for me and had to wait till it settled down to 15 kn. By then all the short boards came in and leaving two formula boards on the water. Wind continued to drop.

Formula 159 deb 70 17s, maui tr 9 9.2m.

5-23kts NW Teralba 115xcross - 6.6m KA Koncept 34 andrew regan pointer ( yuck) then 38 makani weedie ( yep)

You certainly need to be fitter to sail Teralba.Went the tank for the big lulls and a smaller sail for the gusts. A 7m would have been better but too much in the occasional gust.

Started with the 34cm pointer ( never used it before) and yuck - felt too small + slipping sideways ( although it could have been weed) . Much happier with the usual 38cm weedie. Cripes those powered up gusts were good - a few yodells..Tongue out Pity I only got one or 2 fully powered ones all session..Undecided

One minute bobbing around then grab the straps before you go over the front! Wink I was pretty slow getting into the rear strap at first so would often miss the gust but got better as the day went on.

Not a bad speed for the tank.( 26.7kts on GPS )  Aplhas are crap as I gybed in lulls rather than gusts ( didn't want to waste the few gusts I got Smile ). B Byron has his own wind cripes he was flying! Wink

 Heaps out Cluffy , Tony , Steve W , Lyds , Jeff , James , Byron , Mick , Murray , Rus + heaps of others..

You certainly put the effort in today Jeff. Great speed too!

Cluffy so is that a typical NW at Teralba or patchier than normal ?

Sue that one was little bit on the gusty side but it's quite common to get that kind of wind. Even when it's gusting 25 it can still be flukey as hell. I have had some nice westerlies there but not very often. NW is a better direction than west at teralba.

Mick I don't know how you held the 9.2m in the gusts! I was hanging onto the 6.6m

Hi Sue, I only caught the very last couple of minutes of the bigger wind and with a bit more DH on the sail it was easy to spill the unwanted power. Ease a tad windward if I'm not ready to take it on is a safe bet.
