JP 92 KAR 6.3 Lyds Delta custom 16cm

Stood for an hour in the freezing cold rain with Lyds but was rewarded with good conditions when it came in. Struggled again with my rig not rotating and my downhaul mysteriously losing 6cm mid-session (which also may explain my poor 2 sec for the day). I'm sure my hour will improve when I start doing more than two gybes in a row without stopping. A bit frustrating but the best session I've had for a while at Budgie. With Lyds, Royce, Sue, Andy, Byron and Froth.

Just as well we love this sport, today was utterly miserable, freezing cold and continuous rain throughout the entire session. This was probably the best session we have had for two months. Enough wind to do a few bearaways but not much once off the wind. Did quite a few alphas happy to get over 23.

Isonic 90, 7.0 18 Delta.

6m OD - 79ltre falcon - 19 delta then 20 BP weedspeed 50

Pissing down with rain at times and 11 degrees brrr Frown 1st time my feet have felt numb since Primbee in Aug..Love using the 79ltre. My plan to sail regularly and I'll be ready for stronger winds didn't work.. Undecided buggered after 1/2hr although the cold didn't help.. next time I'll wear my 1mm top over the 3,4,5mm..

Did a few gybes that felt really great . Disappointed with the alpha. Thought I would have got a 20 plus..oh well..Undecided They were fun!

31.14 on the GPs but got knocked down a fair bit.

Didn't really score a decent gust in the bearaways and didn't do many. Took my waterproof camera out but everyone was too scattered and it was too miserable to sit around and take pics..

Came in for a break because of lightning and back out with the Bp 20 after lunch but it was over by then and the BP was hitting the bottom and snagging weedbergs.

Good effort, thats what I call dedication, or desperation!!Laughing what a horrible day, Andrew would be use to it though, being from the North of England! Wink Still I'm with Mick, I would sooner be freezing my nuts off on the lake than having to go to work in Sydney !Yell

Sue I have had a look at your alphas today. Below is a comparison of your best today vs mine.

We are both suffering from the same problem our entry is the slowest part. For the first 120 metres you are only doing 16-18kts. It is important to set up for the alpha very early, to ensure you are already up to speed 250 metres out from the turn, at budgie you need to be fully up to speed halfway accross the run. I think many people underestimate how far 250 metres is.

Thanks for the congrats guys. But I can't help thinking I should have done a bit better today considering how good the conditions were. Fortunately, I have my gear to blame again...phew. Tongue out Well done Andy and Sue. Great numbers.

Thanks Andrew.Yes I think I need to aim just for alphas I was working upwind and would bear off a bit 50 m early then gybe then aim upwind again.I got my best alpha at LG when I had given up on stats and was just reaching back and foward having fun.

I'll have to copy one of you guys next time..☺

I feel the same way about my stats today Jeff.Maybe it's just we're putting too much expectation on the session as it's the only decent one we've had for months 😉

I'm blaming my sail..😄Hard to power out when the b boombatten is an s shape..Undecided
