A beautiful afternoon up hear at Port Douglas. Low tides and a sometimes fickle wind. Started off quite strong and solid, and then eased off in the middle and became stronger until it just died completely. Had a great sail with my mate, Ed and his brother, Mark - using my original Starboard Go 144. I went with my isonic 133 and 46cm fin - probably should have stuck my 50cm slalom fin as that would have been handy when the wind got moody. But today was my first run on the new, Neil Pryde Hornet twin cam 7.2m. Really enjoyed it, rigged up nice and easy and was really stable in the hands. Also the twin cams did help me get on the plane and keep going through the lulls - Very Happy. Fast Ed wanted to do the Bourbon drag race [winner takes all]. I got a fair head start on him and then he started to reel me in and then he got thrown over the front. Not fair, so a rematch is on the cards. Looking to get a session in tomorrow afternoon because Port Douglas is shut down to all comers on Sunday with the bloody IronMan. Very happy to say that I have a new PB for distance travelled

2512 days ago Port Douglas, QLD, AU Arvo session with Andrew and my Brother Mark who is still learning but making good progress....Dodgy wind ,strong tide and under powered on 97lt Isonic and 7.3m north rig..should of been on bigger gear, would of been' lit up' all arvo but i didn't take it down the beach. Got spat off twice trying to sail small board with mast forward to keep it flat and level with the water something i have never had any success at doing...It really' pissed me off' Had to pump it on the plain after every gybe which was a wast of time and energy..And i Didn't sail very well which didn't help..Not sure why just an off day..Andrew sailed well and was happy to show off his new sail.Think i would of done the same as it is a very nice rig...Cam has given me a 7m Niel Pryde race sai which just needs a little bit of luv and will be back on the track..Could be a good replacement for my totaly burnt out 7.3 North rig..Thanks Cam will try hard not to trash it...Cheers Ed..
