Falcon 113 KAR 7.9 Venom 38

Quick sail in 8-14kts SSW before being hit by a 10 minute 30kt squall which I spent trying to water start and uphaul the 7.9. Following the squall almost had to swim before a gentle NE got me home. Did 2 x full planing gybes well within 50m so I don't know how that adds up to a 14 kt alpha? Should have stayed homeLaughing

Maybe not enough wind for decent speed on the entry and exit legs ? I may try Carey tomorrow if it blows ..supposed to be 15kts but have to wait and see..Undecided

hmm interesting tracks Boston. I can see your better gybes in realspeed, Nothing record breaking, but much better than 14. For some reason Real speed has not picked up the change in direction and registers the entry and exit runs as all part of the same thing. No idea why this would be. KA72 uses a completly different algorithm so who knows?

Thanks for having a look, Andy. I also inputted my Garmin data from the same session into KA72 and got similar numbers. The GW60 gives me "live" indication of qualified alphas and it seems to not register on more than 50% of U turns that seem to be legit to me.

Jeff, I don't have a GW60 so I could be wrong, but I recall reading something about having to set the Speed Genie speed below your slowest alpha speed fot the alphas to record correctly on the GW60 screen. This however should not effect the speed shown in KA72
