One short rubber just wasn't enough protection today, embarassed to say it was just too cold n rainy for me so I pulled the pin. Always good to catch up with the Mob Nutters, a few laughs always makes it a great day. And thanks to Scissor Hands for inviting me into his dry and warm cave, I was relieved to see no rainbow pictures on the walls Laughing

Fangys, with Slugger, Firie, Fangy, Roger, Tomski and Johnski. Strop arrived for a chat when we were downrigging.

Wind all over the place, so plugged the 24cm weedy into the 48 and the 26 weedy into the 53 and rigged the 6.2 fairly tight.

Started with the big board first, to test the water, and found enough for the 48 so changed to that, then went back to the 53 when wind dropped a bit. Found a couple of gusts in water that wasn't too bumpy, even managed to get a gust long enough for the 20 alpha.

Don't think it quite made a top ten fangys day.

Had the watch on my forearm for the first time, and I'm convinced John has found the best place. It's much easier to see the watch face and there's nothing to press buttons. Accuracy looks just as good as just over my elbow. The only thing is, the watch strap will just go over my hand when adjusted for this position. But I'm using a lanyard that's just over my elbow.

Here's the watch results.

Traded my beloved Big girl last week for a bit of high tech rough and today was my first real hit oput with my bogan girl and her pink bitsTongue out

It was sad parting with my big girl (not all the sails above 8.6m) cause I loved riding her she was just a joy to play with.

But this new bit of kit is WELL NAUGHTYTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue out

I sailed like a newby, crashed and burned quite a few times, but it is awesome fun, the board planes doing around 8 knots then the foil gives you an erection which is interesting trying to control till you inecvitably eat shit.

Now this sounds realy bad, especially from a great height, but at the low speeds i've eaten shit harder at the same speed.

Woo hoo that was 15mins of ball tearin funTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue out

The Hook, with Mr Whippy (Scissorhands) Cap'n Calm, FrozenBob, Swindy, Tomski and at the end Jonski.  The usual shenanigans with Mobbers. A blast of winter cold air meant the Mr Whippy van was enticing, but after seeing the look on Fairiebob's face when he climbed out of the back, hypothermia looked a better option. I will post more later after some emergency therapy.

First order of business for me was to fire up my genset so Mr Whippy could turn out a decent coffee. My job was done in a jiffy, so I sat back waiting for the ‘barista with attitude’ knock one out for me. Things were going well until from inside the Rainbow Van I hear, “sh!t I didn't bring any cups…”

And that sort of summed up my day. I got close to having a good squirt here and there, but I never really connected. It was however, my first outing with my repaired carbon mast and I was very happy with the result. It didn’t break for one. But also the curve seemed to be correct with no noticeably straight section at the repair. To balance that piece of winning, my boom decided to engage in self lowering - the culprit was a broken rope cleat in the boom head.

I came in to see Frozenbob wondering why he had two bellybuttons. I was half inclined to join him, ‘cos it really was a rude shock cold breeze, but then I found a bit of kit that repaired the situation and I headed back out. That lasted until I noticed penguins swimming around the icebergs and I decided that perhaps it was time to call it a day.

2 sec 35kts? Knot to be sneezed at Firie, no matter how much rubber you were, or weren't, carrying. Looking at the wind chill factor you had this arvo you done real good!

"a steamer is not just something you leave in the bushes"........

.......awesome Elmo, lmfao!!!  Need video of your newfangled contraption at work and, of course, compilation of catastrophes as only you manage to get on camera...with realtime commentary naturally.....bring it ON! On the negative side, does this mean that lumpy goodness is a thing of the past?
