lonely mid-afternoon beaver session. Been a while! Was nuking when I arrived, so pulled out the 5.5m and started setting up the speed board. Huge squall came through but it dropped back to 12-20 after that, so pulled out the 112 instead. Didnt start too well after noticing something brown on my hand while I was rigging. Great... dog sh!t. The handle of dh crank squelched bang smack into a steamer at some point. Pretty much had to go sailing after that to wash it off.  Got two small gusts at the right time, and one squall came through but the wind went WSW so there was nowhere to go. Cruised around underpowered until the weed bank got too shallow for 29cm fin and called it quits. Would have been epic earlier on- tide was good, direction was good, and it was stronger. I have no idea why the wind meter was showing 59kts, and supposedly averaging 30+ gutsing to 40+ at times when I was out there. It certainly wasnt that strong- more like 18-27 at best. Feet thawed out a few hours later... man that was cold.
