Choco (14530km): Lake Bonney AB+ 54 6.3 Great to catch up with Hoppy who came down to pickup my 59 slalom, wish i kept it can't remember doing so much swimming the 78 litre AB is definetly a sinker, for some reason GPS watch turned off while sailing.
Trousers (14352km): El Bog, SA. W-NW 15-30kts. Gusty AF, with steep chop to contend with. Made me look like a beginner - using my Hellcat5.2 on the 79l falcon with a Vector 30cm Rockit. A few ok runs but all-in-all struggled to hold it down, with more than one speccy dismount today. Carl however, looked the goods, and I suspect did quite well despite the washing machine conditions. But I'm not complaining...I carried a cold all week: and was still feeling crap when I stepped on the board the first run. But I purged a lot on the water and right now? I now feel a lot better. The healing power of a good sail! Good crew out today, esp. big shout out to the four man pit crew who helped strap my boards to the roof. You know who you are! Just need to teach yt'all how I like my sails rigged and this could be sweeeeet. :)
hoppybogan (25813km): Barmera, SA, AU Was too ruff for me, sailed out and sailed in with my tail between my legs. The locals were nandling it ok. Great to catch up with Choco, Jenny, Christopher. Thanks for the cake and coffee guys Was good to meet Hamma as well, who belted out upwind to the top easily. Enjoyed just watching Barmera is pretty and after driving around the lake there is good access to the lake for all wind directions. Cheers guys.

Captain skip bogan (50112km): Great fun today and a real workout. Really should have gone with the 5m as some of the gusts were mid 30's. The 5.6 and 87 were unbelievable in like Trousers said a washing machine like chop. Kept it clean all afternoon until last run where board lifted and sent me flying lol. No damage all good . Can't wait for lake george next weekend... Boggy lake - 15 to 30 with some 35 knot squalls. Patrik 87 / 5.6m gun sails gsr / 29cm s07 / Black project 31 weed speed. |
