Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU GT-31 Club Day Thanks Ken

First 2 Runs NP Fusion 6.5 + Tabou Speedster 118 + UFO WIDE 30/50 = Happy needed bigger sail Mike was right 7.8 EVO 9 would have been sweet

Next Runs was NP Fusion 6.5 + JP 135 HYDRO FOIL + NP F4 FOIL = well that was my first foil session with Club Guys yes this is diffrent but its the new revolution of windsurfing.

Nothing like the boys lapping past, even to the stall and chat on the water and with a couple of pumps and yep Mike was gone Surprised and so were the rest  Darren, Ken and Nick. Glen looking sweet out there and comfortable on the foil your dedication has payed of, Matt looking comfortable as well on the foil.

Well got a feel for it and yes it did what it was suppose to do and that was put a smile on my face. I had a few encounters pool noodles where on the nose for protection, but that lasted like a few runs now to find them along the shore.  Had some hang time then splat and again and again, ended up hovering about 1 foot at times but still a lot to learn sailed. NOTE don't need to much back foot pressure other wise like the other day at Hooka you get roosted. All in all fun day learning this new revolution and just having fun with the boys as well.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU. South up to 18 knots early and slowly dropping during the day.

FOIL & SLALOM

Club racing with a very nice southerly breeze. Started off before racing with the foil and had some great long runs up and down. Such fun flying over the chop. I was keen to try the new board in windsurf mode so changed over to a 50cm fin and went back out. It felt a bit weird for a start , with such a wide tail but soon got into the groove. What good fun - the big board handes the chop so well. Changed fins to the 48cm and that felt even better.

I swapped back to the foil for the races and this was perfect for the up and down around the course. Finished up the day blasting back and forwards on the foil with the slalom boards. An enjoyable day.

Most of the numbers above are for when in windsurf mode - for foil only:

2s: 18.2, 5x10: 17.2, alpha: 13.5, NM: 15.4, dist: 52km - an interesting comparsionSmile

SB Foil 147, SV Reflex R8 7m, 2016 Manta, MxR 48cm
