Port Victoria, SA, AU

20-30knots WSW, f290, GPS 5.8, 28 choco weedy

Brilliant Fun, looked like i would miss out as the wind was not there when i arrived. Me and Trick and Shane T @ co stood around waiting for it. Shane left after an hour  and we sat aroun for another half hour. Could see it picking up and even though it was now West i was sailing. Bit light on at first then it picked up and i worked my way downwind to sail the flats up the end. Wow, it was the best sail at Voodoo land i have had so far and it looks like it works on a WSW as well as straight North. It was sailing off the fin on both tacks, fantastic.

Meanwhile, back in Tricky land, he had lost sight of me and hopped in his car and drove a few kms looking for me. Sorry buddy i thought you could see my sail up, burning across the chops at warp speed with a grin from ear to earEmbarassed. Once i saw the Subi i sailed in and we loaded the gear in the back and headed back to base. Came home well pleased with that sail.Smile

Cheers

Convinced Hoppy to give Voodo Land another crack, Isonic87 Loft5.6 RB CW Weedie Headded out then the wind droped & struggled back in then a 10m walk in the bog was not a great start, then waited Till Shane made the sacrifice & left then the Westerly swung in as it was gusty the plan was to stay in close & see what it was like managed to hold my ground in the up down off shore wind. Looked around & hoppy was getting further down wind. Did another couple of runs & Hoppy had dissapeared. Jumped in the car & did a search & found him way over the other side. Spent the next hour & a half keeping an eye on him till he came ashore & I gave him a 3km ride back to his van.

Had a quick sesh with Carl. Forecast was big. Took small gear only. Rigged the 5.4 sail and cam was broken. Then rigged the 5.1 because the 6.3 was the other choice and the forecast was too strong so rigged the 5.1. Guess what. Broken battern. Sailed it anyway. 1 lap in the fin shredded a layer and was spinning out. Pulled the layer off and kept sailing. Wind was 13 to 20. Way underpowered but fun all the same. Cheers for the port Carl.

Great arvo session with Sam.  Thought i might be the only one on the water today and got a message to say he'd be down later.  Took the girls down and on arrival noticed the lake was very angry.  Checked the ob's and was indicating 25 to 40 and the water was messy.  Had mixed thoughts on heading out but soon had a phone call from Sam to say he was on his way.  Meanwhile i was talking with the girls about snakes and looked up to see a 1m crossing the driveway and into the bushes.

Sam arrived a short time later and after the usual chat and port - we rigged.  Unforuntalely Sam had some batten issues and we later got on the water after the wind had dropped.  The gusts were still okay so i rigged the 5m.

We headed out and the wind had dropped back to 13 to 20 with the occasional gust a little more.  Struggled a little in between but the little 5m is awesome Cool.

Really good to have a powered session after being on the 8.7 the last couple of sessions.

Boggy lake - 13 to 20ish.

Patrik 87 / 5m gun sails gsr / Select S07 29cm fin.

Nice going Hoppy, you'll have to show me that spot one day, last day of work tomorrow so I'll have a bit of time in between working on the property from now till harvest.

Yep. good giong teamSmile

Will do Choco, the place has a large mud flat up the top ( bit like LG ) It was plenty gusty yesterday but flat water made it great fun. Wish i had a camera there 'cause the hundreds of large paddock tumbleweeds were blown out to sea, floating like mushrooms everywhere.

Choco what we have found so far is that it works in a Northley and now Hoppy thinks Westerly is OK as well. Need about 1m or plus tide or you are knee deep in mud going out & back in. The plusses NO Razor Fish but still has floating ribon weed & some weed on the bottom so still need a weedie.  Look forward to catch up again Shane but its harvest time so I will be chained to the chaser bin.
