2340 days ago Egg Island, Cape Cod. Low tide session, second sand bar was fully out, which created very nice speed conditions. WSW made for a very square course, with speeds almost identical both directions. Quite happy with the top speed (3rd best ever, spot and board PB) for going just 22 degrees off the wind. GPSLogit had me set a new alpha PB, but GPSAR came in 0.3 knots lower, exactly tying my previous PB. Not had for a Halloween session!
Big difference to yesterday was less and steadier wind (30 mph gusting 35 at the time of the top speed run); flatter water; and 2 cm more downhaul on the RB 5.6, which made it behave much better. It probably still could have used another 0.5 to 1 cm more .. next time. Being on the XFire 90 today also helped, especially when sailing back 3/4 of a mile upwind as the wind dropped down to 24 with lulls of 17. The board felt downright huge compared to the Isonic speed board! Fun day in the sun and relative warmth (57 F, 13 C).
