Port Douglas, QLD, au..Yer what can i say..A big kids arvo in Port, got down the beach after work keen for a sail.Sea was gray and ugly and wind was honking hard, new it was gunna be a tough session as all the kite surfers were holding hands in the girls toilets.. Bad boy billy had a 6.5m sail rigged but i chickened out and rigged 5.4m North rig in full crank down mode on 97lt Isonic ..Had the tide from hell running all arvo and it was even rougher than it looked..could not get comfortable and just had to hit every wave head on and hard..Isonic took a real beating but handled well with nose up and 35cm fin doing it's job..Spent a bit more time in the water than i usually do which annoyed me a bit,but i was working  harder than usual as well..conditions deteriated as the arvo went on so i did a fin  change, down to my smallest fin 34cm.. Wanted to keep blasting till dark so i could get my 75kms in, but i just totaly ran out of fuel on sundown well short of the mark.. A very tough session but i guess it is all good  practice..Billy had a touch session as well ...Cheers Ed..

Well done lads. Pete, enjoy your summer break....

Ed, your right, what can you say. That was brutal. I dont think i have ever launched from the carpark before. Insane. That is the highest tide ive seen at PD for a very long time. Got smashed on my 6.5 and decided to re rig my old 5.4 North Natural. Really didnt put much thought into it and back out on the water it was so twitchy that I very quickly called it a day. Ed just bared down and took whatever came his way. Just insane - well done mate. 25 plus knts and no sign of abating - out wide it must have been all of 30. Rough, actually rough doesnt accurately describe the conditions - pure madness. Saw yound Andrew eyeing the conditions and went home real quick - think he was the clear thinking one out of the lot of us!!!
