Highlands, NJ,  Sandy Hook.  First time sailed on S.H. behind the sand bar. Many shallow spots to avoid. 200m. speed run from start to finish.

It was not enough wind and short runs for speed and alpha. However, I've got the feeling that is it possible to get 24 Alpha on flats with my skills.

(25 kn. on entrance - 11 kn. min. speed - 24 kn. on exit).  Alpha is the goal for next season.

Barnstable Harbor, Cape Cod. Sunny and warm .. I must have gotten used to 46 F quickly. W-WNW. Not the best direction for the spot, no really flat water, but the chop was manageable, and the wind seemed a bit steadier than usually in BH. Nice to get out and be warm at the end of November - did not even use the hand warming tubes once today. Tried a new phone-headphone combo for GPSLogit, which worked great when I finally figured out that I had to turn speech on in GPSLogit.

Not exactly what you would call a good day of windsurfing but any day spent at the lake is a good day Smile

Al, the sandbar looks nice, but the runs are a bit short for alphas. For reference, in my recent 23.1 kn PB I had an average speed of 26.4 kn on the inbound leg, a min. jibe speed of 12.5, and got back up to 26 knots on the outbound leg. Runs were about 800 m long, although the first 300 m were quite choppy. My acceleration after the jibe was quite slow - it took me 15 seconds to get back up to 25 knots. You can probably do better than that if the conditions are right :-).
