Hardie (35683km): Strong Stench of Skunk for Mandurah seabreezes this summer , I hope I'm wrong The pattern so far has been that seabreezes are coming in way under forecast, ocean temp is one to two degrees warmer than same time last year, and it hasnt been super hot up north or inland, Binny says temps have been mild u Karratha way, can I swear, First World Problems Hey
Decrepit (54483km): Wind picked up nicely as we watched, so thinking it would follow the forecast and keep picking up, I rigged the 6.2 koncept and plugged the 19cm @ 55d into the 48. Fangy went out and seemed to be going well. But as I changed wind started to drop off, By the time I was ready to launch Fangy, was very upright, and slogging. So plugged the 20cm @ 55d into the 53, and proceeded to wallow upwind. The flying fin came out and wind started to pick up. By the time he reached us we were planing, (for a while) wind then was up and down for almost an hour, then it stayed down. Nice to be in the smooth watching the bottom go by, but another 5kts would have been better. I have a feeling the combination of Captn calm and the mortician, isn't all that favourable.
fangy (22667km): Fangyland for a splash with Cap'n Calm, Fin, Morts and Stroppo. I think after three days of evidence, we can say that the Mortician is indeed deadly on any decent forecast. In the past we have always wondered about Evets wild optimism for breezy forecasts in Albantartica, but now we realise that Evets is probably correct, he simply forgets to factor in the Mortician Effect. Today was a too west and too weak for anything other than the Chutney Run. The Barge, Koncept 7.5 and FF24. Good fun in the puffs that came through, but overall Huey was distinctly lacking. Unbelievably, Fin yet again proved physics doesn't really apply to him in light airs. He was planing using a FF20 fin and tea-towel for a sail. He didn't look as though he noticed how nice the sky was, so we helped him by pointing it out with a finger each time he went past. Good exercise and good company, but because my standards are so high, I don't think I can give it a Top Ten Fangy Day.

Last sail up in Mandurah in very marginal winds. Rigged the 6.2 Koncept originally but when I saw Mike grovelling on his it was time to go up a size to the 6.8. Still plenty of grovelling but the times I did get going through the surface weed were quite fun, maybe it was the wondering if I was going to come to a sudden grinding halt that add that extra level of interest.
Even though the wind never quite lived up to the forecast I still got out on the water all 3 days. Thanks to Fangy for the fin, really liking it so far & to the guys I got to sail with Mike, Ross, Paul, Pas, Simon, Glenn & a couple of others I don't know, a pleasure gents Also to the young fella who had an off & tweaked his ankle, hope it was nothing too serious & your out on the water again soon!
Pretty sure I'm now added to the numerous & illustrious list of sailors banned from Fangyland, as my wind killing abilities are seemingly not that far behind those of the legendary Cap'n Calm
Cheers
