Fun sail at Fangy's in the smooth, difinitely need a delta style fin if you want to sail here.  Got my brand new Fangy 24 fin, and yes found the only umarked rock and smashed itYell.  happened on my last run home, so didn't spoil what was a lot of fun in the smooth.  The fin is excellent and highly recommended for this type of sailing, it duz live up to the claimsCool. Definitely Cpt Calom today, rigged when the wind was 17 to 22 and predicted to increase. went with the 48 6.2 and 19cm unfilleted @ 55d.

First run couple of runs weren't to bad, then I could only get going on starboard, then I couldn't get going at all, so joined slugger in a wallow home.

Sorry guys!

But it looked like it came back in nicely after I derigged! Look forward to the 2nd session posts.

Fangyland with Hardquiz, Sludge, Fin, Cap’n Calm, Swindy, Sammy and Stroppo.

I joined Hards just after the sea breeze came in and took advice from the master. I started to rig my 7.5, but the Sludge arrived and made some grandiose and rather confident pronouncements about the impending gale. For some reason that seems totally unfathomable now, I listened to him and made the fatal mistake of rigging my 6.6 instead. I then spent the entire day dogging around with only the occasional gust getting me up and planing.

But the main game was to hand over a shiny virgin 24 to Hards to try out. I watched him for a while but after a few minutes it became obvious that he was happily taking to his fin. Relieved, I chucked in the Canting Keel Barge with catastrophically under-done 6.6 and the set about trying to catch up with Hards.

By the time a new millennia had begun I caught up with Hards at the Boundary Island weed bank and he was happy with his fin. So much so, he took it 4WDing over a rock wall and handed out one of the harshest Crash Test Dummy runs to the FF24 ever accomplished.

It’s taken a bit of sanding but the fin is now looking brand new once again. I shouldn’t be surprised as I remember Hards telling what he did when he took a sports car for a test drive. Suffice to say, the man has form.

Great social outing, even if the wind did not quite do it justice. Yep another Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

Fangyland days 2, was told by the locals it sld be more wind or the same at least.. Got there later to find people wisling around, some not as they setup smaller that the day before.

By the time I finished rigging the wind died and everyone came back to shore Yell. I was left with 9-12knts..I had setup the same that yesterday.. I was optimistic and decided to wait until the wind comeback, Strop late too itchy for a sail, and Swindy forgot to wear is GPS.. we waited, it did cameback 12-14knts guessing upthere was around 16.. good enough to keep moving..

Later the tide went up slightly, which made it even better, not as good as yesterday but I had a ball  Cool great fun with Strop cutting through the thick weedland ah ah ah you never sure if you going to make it Laughing

Same gear same place less wind, happy days

Coodanup, WA, AU   Pat F Race 140, KAR 7.1, FF28

Got to Fangys and everyone had riged smaller than yesterday, for the life of me I didnt know why until later. decided to err on the side of caution and went for yesterdays set up but should have gone the 7.9. First trip out I decided to forget to put the GPS on my wrist, though planing most of the time the weed seemed much thicker with the lower tide and the 7.1 was struggeling to drag the 28 through it.

Second attempt with the GPS on this time and the wind and tide had came up a bit and things felt much better and ended up an enjoyable sail with Strop and Sammy. On the way in I passed a man with a 6.6 KA and I heard the name Slugger and lots of variations on that followed by some rather bad language.

24 hours later I am still singing his praises. Mind you it's blowing a gale here now...almost double figures Laughing
