Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Nice afternoons adventure out onto the "Holloways Smooth" with Fred, Ben and Ian. Very light for the first half of the session - approx 12 knts with the odd gust coming through which made for some rather challenging sailing. Wind was swinging around a fair bit to i reckon and I ended up getting caught out way down wind near the kiters at Yorkies. Used every ounce of my strength and knowledge to grind out some planing runs before a more consistent 15ish knt breeze turned up, which by then, we were all pretty pooped.

Beautiful water colours out on the Coral Sea today and once again, the bait fish in the water were thick.  Fred went home Numero Uno, just kept on at it all afternoon. Sensational to watch. That bright red Loft sail , delicately leaning back on yet another planning run out on the wild waters beyond the horizon. Our last couple of sessions have been very much a surprise, so it is really enjoyable being out with the lads enjoying it.

Used - 125 AHD Diamond, 8.3 NP Diablo, 49 S10.

Exocet Speed Slider 135 NP 7.7 Black Project 47.5

Very light on today.  Arrived about 2 hours too early I reckon- the wind started to build a little bit from about 3pm onwards.  Found it trying to even get up on the plane...  I was relieved when the other lads commented much the same!

The old Exocet 135lt board felt bloody big & bulky when compared to the most recent sessions on the Futura 122lt... worlds apart really!

Sailed with Freddo, Billy & Ian.  Definately not a top 10 day, but good to catch up with the crew.

Big thanks for the mangoes Ian!  They are going to be super delicous if they taste half as good as they smell!!!

Sailed with Billy,Ian and Benny at Holloways .....wind was a little light at the start of the session and filled in a bit through the afternoon.

Got to take what you can get this time of the year. Thought I might have done a little more distance but I did slog around for a while!!

Billys first run looked pretty good but went down from there until he was sailing just off NZ then his numbers picked up...great effort Billy.

Ian struggled with his 7-0 sail and come in a little early as the wind picked up just after he come in....I come in and gave him a run on my rig

....struggled to get it out of his hands to pack up!!Wink

another unexpected December sail with Billy, Fred and Ben.

I was a little under powered most of the afternon until i borrowed Freds 6.3 loft which was much more powerfull and controlable than my Gator 7.0.  wind picked up for the last half an hour but I had already come in from the blue line by then.   Ben and Fred passed on an old Areotech 4.5 M with 490 mast, originally from Bob.  so hopefully next light wind sail will not be so under powered.  Used  Isonic 117  with 46 cm fin and Gator 7.o
