5-20kts patchy E with lumpy moguls from yacht racing.. Belmont Bay (Slipways), NSW, AU
6.6m KA Koncept - RS4 ( 111ltres) - 36cms Drake pointer
then 6.2m OD - RS2 ( 90ltres) - 33 makani weedy
Not a very enjoyable session. Just couldn't find the right combo. I was overpowered in the gusts with the big kit and getting bashed about like a aircraft carrier in 30' waves.. I wasn't game to go off the wind much in the gusts so had to use lulls to get back to the launch. Got the 2 sec on the big board.
Rigged the smaller kit but by then it had got really patchy and died a bit. This was great in the gusts but I was hoping I wouldn't fall in the lulls and get stuck out there. Last run into shore was ok.
Only did a few runs.2 runs on the big kit and one on the smaller..
Note to self- don't sail Belmont when the yachts are racing and when the gate is locked..I had heart palps before I started from carting gear up and down..
The guys made it look easy..Probably should have just put the smaller sail on the big board and put up with the moguls..
