Pleasant sail in some confused chop at Cott, tried the Manta 116 first and as the wind picked up switched to the 98, very bumpy ride but a lot of fun.

Manta 116, 98 KAR 6.3

Fun session, more wind than expected. Managed a couple of planing gybes, one it the chop, big surprise.

You win some, you lose some and today was a loss. Amazing how things can turn around in a few days - Sunday where everything felt perfectly balanced and I was zooming around having fun and scoring PBs, then today when nothing felt right. I moved the mast foot, changed fins, altered the boom height - and never felt balanced. In the end the wind picked up so much I couldn't even sheet in over the sandbar and then close to shore hardly anything, so I decided to call it a day.

I probably got there a bit early - about 2.30 - went straight from work - 8-15 kn as I was rigging, very hot and fluffy with only 15 forecast so I went with my big gear, but later the wind filled in to 20+. It probably would have been better to wait until later in the afternoon. Suprisingly I feel quite fatigued and sore after only 5 km. Maybe I hadn't fully recovered from Sunday's big session yet.

Nice one guys. I snuck out for a sess at Safety Bay on the 98/6.3/29 just for some tuning, but wind backed off around 530 down there. Forgot the GPS but I don't expect it would have shown anything flash. Man, that xfire gets planing super early. Such a cool feeling coming out of a gybe on near glass and just one pump after sail flip to stay on the plane. Magic.

Anita I think the underpowered, gusty ,crappy sessions can be more tiring than the good ones as you use your arms more and can't relax and lay back in the harness..
