Some important person came in to work and I had to hang around and talk to them so got to Melville late. It was crap and not enough time to go to Dutchies so I went out and grovelled around for a while.

Nice blat with Boz in an unexpected 20-23 knots. Borrowed a 96 lt RRD FSW board from 2ndwind. 96 is a bit big with the 5.6 and I was mistakenly handed a 25cm fin instead of a 28 but still pretty pleased with the performance in the chop and swell. Might consider getting the 90.

It was a kitefest at the pond this afternoon, they were everywhere. I counted 30+, so you can imagine the speed run was like playing dodgems. I had to pull out of my first couple of runs because there were kiters in the way, and when I eventually went down the run I had to dodge about 4 kiters during the bear away and was well off the best angle. I nearly scored one kiter later (close enough to make her squeal), sailing across the wind, when the kiter suddenly changed direction (as they are wont to do) right into my path when I was closing in at about 25 knots. Luckily we were able to avoid a collision. I didn't stay long after that.
It was good to catch up with Lunny and to meet our newest team member Woody, who decided Melville was a better bet. Less chance of a kitemare anyway.
