20-30kts plus SSE Lake George, SA, AU

5.7m OD - 80ltre isonic - 38BP50 weedspeed

 then 5m - 80ltre - 23cm

then 2 runs with Mals borrowed isonic 50.

Usual launch plus 5 mile. i wanted a nice cruisy sail today so got down at 11am and rigged the 5.7m -80isonic 38BP50weedspeed...1 run and it was over the top so rerigged the 5m - 80ltre 23cm gun 50 weedy..Would have use the speedboard but I didn't have one..Frown

cripes today was a feel the fear but keep going day! Not used to such strong consistent wind! I've never gone upwind so fast ! I usually do c 20kts upwind bu much faster through the chop working up... Isonic behaved beautifully ( one 300m spinout but i didn't lose it)..Getting confident to lay back and push on the fin on starboard tack but I tend to panic on port..especially in the 30kt gusts! Then I cramp up and don't commit to the harness which makes thngs worse.. Oh well practise will help.

Got a few 33kt+  runs on the isonic and hit 34.4kts on the last bearaway. Funny I'd get this mega gust that woyuld lift me and then I'd go for it and think "that has to be a PB"..looked at the GPS.."Your kidding 33.4kts???"Laughing

Last run was a brown pants special through the chop in the middle with mega gusts to the other side and then i decided to just walk it to a good start..The wind was grabbing the 50ltre and it was doing 360's on the end of the mast..I remeber thinking "this isn't quite what the specialist meant when he said don't push your self..Laughing

Health went great .. I just need to get fitter and do more runs..

It was probably the day to push for a 2 sec but it wasn't my board and I thought Mal would want it..I also was proud of myself for coping with the conditions and felt I'd done  enough ( I didn't expect a PB)..

Took some video afterwards although I was being bitten by march flies ..I could hndle some bites but others I had to stop and whack them.. Not that many just a few pesky ones..

Finally a PB! Looking forward to 15kts where I can go and cruise around the lake..

Sueper nautical Mile! That is going to be hard to beat. Which board was that on?

Well done, Sue, you work hard and you have driven 100's of km and you deserve every success.

What's this about wanting 15 knots? You don't drive all that way for 15 knots...
