Jimbob (26496km): LG 20 to 30 SE actually a bit better than yesterday. 5th day straight and a few more to go. JP70 litre slalom with 21 decrepit weedy, 4.9 Loft Racing Blade, 3 day straight on this combo have it dialed now a few 40's today and a 41 peak.. had 2 runs on the xs missile for 38's but i'm too bloody old to have the energy to get started in the weed on a 52litre board anymore. Ado has gone and the warrnambool boys have moved in and Hamma is still here 5 days after coming for 1 day. Good to have captain Kimba here today. I'm going to move on my F2 XS Missile and F2 SXS 90 litre slalom if anyone is interested before I advetise them.

Kimba (8041km): Great to be back at Lake George again! I started on the Mistral 112 with a 6.9 and a 27cm fin I finished last night. I was relieved the fin didn't fall out while I was doing a general recon. I did 8 runs and came in for a breather and to change down to 6.4 with a vector weed speed this time. I got 4 runs on this combo with a 40.5 on the mistral 112. I felt is was time to get black beauty wet. She has been so very patient as she hasn't ever touched water since I built her about 4 years ago. Well that was the end of any surplus energy I had. I only managd 3 runs in an hour or 2, one of which gave me a glimpse of her potential for my best peak. Any errors in the weed means major energy expendature! I thought I would try for speed today and play with some combos but it ends up tomorrow might be stronger... I am really missing a 90l slalom board and thought it might be a few weeks before I made the trip down - there is one currently underway on the shaping rack at home which will be the big sister of the Creeper 48. The 48 felt slippery when up and running so that gives me confidence forging ahead on the 90l/ 58cm board ready for the next trip.
Great to meet some new sailors and catch up with old mates again. | ||||||||||||||||||
