Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Sailed like a total gumby.Fell off alot .Got smacked on the elbow. Had big trouble trying to bear off.Even managed to get knocked over by the sail whe derigging. After dicussion with Glen decided that rigging my outhaul to the top clew hole was the main cause of my gumbeyness. I had set my downhaul to the usual position but the higher outhaul made it look and behave very differently.

Not a top ten day but I hope,a lesson learned.

The irritating bit is that I wasted good conditions.

Liptons Fun sail, very enjoyable, only one negative,  I stuffed up the strongest gust of my day, had the sail over-sheeted, so open it up, but too much, board bucked liked a broncing bull, killed the runYell, but other than that super enjoyable and all 5 mins from homeCool

Coodanup, WA, AU, Isonic 110, Warp 7.0, FF24 It’s been exactly 1 year since I joined the mob so this surely called for a groove in the smooth. Quickly rigged and poked a bit of fun at the king of Coodanups royal wagon before setting off into a fairly decent breeze. Had a good time zipping around before the inevitable happened and my 3rd choice boom snapped at the head leaving me with a nice assermetric boom to head to shore with.if any of the underemployed mobbers wants to earn themselves a few beers or equivalent sticking my booms back together it would be appreciated.

Fangyland with Remery until the nightshift Jonski blocked on. I will post some scores once I can get Windose to boot on my VM…grrrr!

Bad things:  I am starting to challenge Elmo on the scoreboard of “Valuable things I have thrown into the water”  I was halfway through the afternoon when I noticed that the waterproof camera housing that was attached to the top of my mast was hanging open, sans camera. :-(

Good things: some beaut patches of smooth water and glass to provide enough magic carpet ride to put a smile on the dial again. That plus a good chat with Rob and my head ended up in a good place again.

Top Ten Fangy therapy session on The Party Barge, FF24, Koncept 7.5. Laughing

JP Slalom 71, NP RSR E7 7.0m, Pepe weed 27cm.

Last on the water but a fun sail tonight, primarily just soing runs across the channel and gybes with the occasional squirt through the weed.

Good crew out on the water enjoying the conditions.

Groovy

Just for Franga, my last gybe of the night, fumbled the sail flip, hanging onto it one handed a gust hits blows me over leeward on the way down my harness hook goes through the clew of the sail, grrrrrr

damn John, sorry to hear you went for the assymmetric boom set up too. There's been a bit of boom carnage here of late! I have some woven carbon sleeve material that might help with a repair - will chat to you about it next session.

Equipment carnage at Coodanup.

Fangy, isn't that a watch and the camera now lurking under the weedy goodness ? Seem to remember that you said your watch was somewhere in the western end gybing area. Might be worth a trip with a drag line.

Sorry to hear about the pounding Basil.....I can well relate to gumby-like technique so I share your pain.

Jonski's boom, Elmo's sail.....Reg could set up a branch office in John St. Hards.....woulda been yet another 40....damn!
