2252 days ago 1 categories More Fangy fun with slugger, fangy, lunny, windxtasy and Johnski after we'd come out.
wind was very up and down, so decided to plug the 6.2 into the 53. Unfortunately I discovered a big crack on the rail under the rear footpad. I had a feeling the board was getting heavier, but was too slack to investigate further!
So now the 53 joins the 48 minus mast track in dry dock.
Slugger came to my rescue and lent me his isonic 86. so plugged in the 23cm 40-60 deg weedy. This collected weed when going slow through the thicker bits. Most of the time I could jump this off, except once in a lull when there wasn't enough wind, I had to hp[ off to free it.
I found the isonic very similar to ride to my 53, except I think the isonic keeps it's speed better through the gybes. May be due to an extra 3 or 4cm in width.
Had fun in the gusts, and found the isonic comfortable to grovel in the lulls.

2252 days ago Fangyland for an extended bout of procrastination with a few optimistic Pinnas. Joe decided to escape the rapier sharp repartee by rigging up and heading out. Despite Weatherman Sam's earlier forecast of Cloudy with a Chance of Quiches ( at least I think that is what he said) Joe proceeded to fly off down to Boundary Island. The rest of us displayed varying degrees of enthusiasm, but eventually it was decided that we should join him and hit the water too. I jumped in the Bazooki to toddle off back to the estate and load up my kit. On the way I noticed Sludge and Cap'n Calm ensconced at S bend, so I veered off the road in the hope of cleaning up some Sludge's kit in the process. I failed, but obviously Sludge was a few pounds lighter as a result of my attempt, because once in the water he took off downhill with enough speed to convince me that a sail this arvo was a good plan.
Party Barge, Koncept 7.5 and FF24. I probably should have gone the 8.5, FF28 combo, but I wanted to make sure I could run into the weedy stuff as far as possible. The end result was, in the gusts I was a happy camper, but in the lulls I was spending my time looking at the wildlife. I came in and handed over to Nightshift Jonski, who was a sterling fellow and provided some entertainment by breaking his own stuff while I packed up mine. All in all, not a big session but still a nice way to spend the arvo. Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

2252 days ago Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. FF113/HSM7.3/TWS33. Sailing with Otts. Bunbury easterlies are usually rubbish, but I just got back from a week in the Wimmera, so wasnt going to be fussy. My expectations were low, but it turned out to be a fun sail. Tried the CA52, but didnt do any better.

Liptons, used the big kit, wind was lite, but maily on and off like a esterly, had fun with Strop doing long leg on the weed bank. It was pretty cool the direction, first for me
At 18ish as we got at the water and started to packup the wind finally picked up so I got the SL81 out for a quick test burn with the 6.7, very very surprised that the 6.7 did not felt too uncomfortable, specially using a 20cm fin!! woow good to know.
Only done 2 laps with it, why the big diff between the 2s and 5x10
