Mission: 30 knots on freestyle gear. My tendonitis had been bothering me quite a bit recently, so I used the easy freestyle gear instead of speed gear to join Nina on a trip to Egg Island. Perfect high-tide conditions there, and wind gusting to 30 knots, so I just had to see how fast I could push the Skate 110/Idol5.0/MUF Weed 22 combo. Got a lucky gust and hit 30.8 knots . Jibing in the flat water at the end of the speed runs was an awful lot of fun.

Got a second session in the afternoon, this time bump & jump. Lots of fun again, except for the part where I poked a hole in the 5.0. The 4.7 was a better choice in the chop, anyway...

Used a couple of ublox 8 prototypes in the morning with a GW-60 for control. Numbers are very close; when there are slightly larger discrepancies, the ublox 8 devices agree, and the GW-60 tracks show obvious (albeit small) errors. The ublox data also have the smaller +- numbers. Will post numbers and pictures on my blog when I get around to it.
