GPS Team Challenge - Tassie Speed Seekers (TAS, Australia)

Gusting well into the 40s Izaak. Out of my league really. You, Perks and Cookie would have smashed it. I could see 40+ gusts out to sea before I left home, and was expecting it would moderate a bit, but it didn't. probably the steadiest wind I've seen at that wind strength. it's usually just chaos at that wind strength. unfortunately the bank is getting a bit sketchy these days, with a large section scalloped out and too shallow to sail close to the bank the way we could a couple of years ago. So it was a bit choppy, especially after a bear away. Had a few nervy moments. Had a 38.3 peak on the watch. Pretty happy to get away with what I did without injury or damage. Had the rig ripped out of my hands, just standing in the water at times. Would love to have seen what you top guns could have achieved with it. Cookie had an important family event to go to, otherwise I'm sure he would have been there. Smithton and Wynyard obs looked way windier than Devonport.
