Great Boombas session with Fangy, Slugger, Auz, Woody and SMS.

Close to ideal conditions tide not overly high or too low, fairly steady wind in the morning, ave about 15, with 20kt gusts.

Decided to go for the hour, and perhaps distance if the wind didn't shift too early.

went with the 5.8, 53, with 26cm 45deg weedy.

Found some heavy weed banks on an early gybe and went over the handle bars, then couldn't shake/jump the weed off when I restarted. I had to grovel into a clearish spot, hop off and clear by hand. So I restarted the hour, went well for about 50 mins and was a fair way upwind, so I started going with the chop, for the last runs downwind. This worked well for the next 3 runs, but then a big flock of swans appeared right where I wanted to gybe, then the wind dropped a bit so the last two runs were shorter and slower.

Came back in for lunch, and wind seemed to be picking up so thought about changing down to the new 48cm board. But lunch finished, wind looked a bit flukey so stayed with the 53, and just went for a blast. Great fun until the wind started to swing and I got a bit nervous about being stranded a long way down wind. So headed back to the launch and watched the others struggle.

Happy with the hour, it's possibly a top ten

Great fun session at Boombas with Cap’n Calm, Sludge, Auz, Woody M and Shane ( who brought the rain and killed off Huey pretty effectively ).

In the news this morning I read that the new Tesla software upgrade has replaced the horn with  Musk shouting out ‘Paedo’ whenever the car detects it has been cut-off, so I wasn’t that surprised when Sludge's,  Mr Whippy Van played “Football isn’t coming home” when I rolled up on-site mid-morning.

The day didn’t start so well, Auz forgot my coffee and I thought I would attempt to anchor my little board to the estuary floor as a result of misjudging the peaks and troughs of windspeed. After watching Sludge and Cap’n disappear around the point at speed, I trudged back in and whacked the Party Barge, FangyFin24 and Koncept 6.6 in as worthy replacement.

As it turned out, most of the day I was a bit underdone, but every now and then a decent gust would get the Barge up and happening. The water conditions were perfect for the Barge, no smooth, but acres of small chop to play in and give the old thing a squirt. Anything over 30 is a good day on the Barge, so I am very happy with the speed, but obviously forgot to clear my last short session on the GW52, as a result, I thought I had done more distance than I actually recorded.

Got to cut it short as it’s now feeding time at the zoo, but absolutely a Top Ten Fangy Day.

Pat 100 tr8 6.3m mxr28 / mxr26

First to land in whoop whoop and first to hit the water wind was a pretty steady 17kts  and sun was shinning, had some great runs but hit a few weed burgs which made things interesting, changed to a loaned delta 24 ( thanks Ross) but didnt really do it for me so went the 26 mxr instead. Nice going again Mike we are so close on numbers and nice top speed Ross,

Was a fantastic day with great company,  Ross, Mike, Auz, Mark and later shane.

The hour wasn't intentional - I spent the last half hour of it trying to find Sludge to come on in for a cuppa.  I didn't want to be sitting around with just Frank for company. Eventually, I gave up and went in, only to find he was already there with a brew...Laughing
